The estimate was detailed and split up in a way I could have adjusted portions of the project to fit my budget. They started a month earlier than expected, which worked out well for me. Everyone was professional and was obviously experienced in garden design. Garden beds were expertly realigned and flagstone reset for a smoother flow around the area. Christian explained the issue and what needed to be done. The work area was thoroughly cleaned and an adjacent flower bed was left looking better than before. "I would've given them an "A-" on price only because the quote came in a little higher than we'd expected. However, we also chose not to compromise the materials we chose in order to get the price down. We are thoroughly impressed with our entire experience with Goetz Landscaping. Al was our designer. We wanted a contemporary and modern design and he nailed it right away. Al was completely thorough not only with the work but also in dealing with our association. Our association required tohave a certain percentage of "buffer zone" in our back yard and they are very strict about maintaining. Al coordinated everything including the 3 inspections by the association that needed to take place. The crew that showed up was terrific. They were on-time, friendly, and very professional. They explained what they were doing and were meticulous with their steps to ensure quality work. They started on a Tuesday where they'd cleared away the area and put in the "layers" of the foundation. That night, we had *torrential* rain and turned the dirt into mud. On Wed., they worked half a day (where it rained the whole time), but were concerned that it was still so wet. On Thurs., they were still concerned about the stability of the foundation. They wanted to give it the weekend to dry out. On Monday, they'd work the entire day and, when we came home, explained they wanted to ensure a solid foundation, which required more layers - so they basically started from scratch. We were so impressed with the fact that they did not stop until they were sure the work was high quality. Again, the experience was fantastic and I would recommend them in a heartbeat."

"The workers on site were wonderful -- we were very happy with the work as it was being performed, and they were very careful with surrounding area (drive, sidewalk, lawn) and did an excellent job overall. They were friendly and very respectful of us and our home/yard - a joy to have around.
My dissatisfaction was with the level of responsiveness I received from the owner after accepting his bid and sending a deposit check in (up until the deposit was sent, he was very quick to give a bid, explain the process, and return calls to answer questions).
After being told that the landscape crew was "a few weeks out" it took about 6 weeks for the job to happen, and that was after several calls to the owner to get an update on status. I understand that other projects ahead of mine may fall behind schedule or go beyond scope, however I was never updated on timing at all and was left wondering if he even received the paperwork with the deposit check. The only proactive note I received from him was the email on Friday at 5p indicating that the crew can start Monday morning, and 'will someone be there that morning'.
Upon project completion, my husband inadvertently gave payment in full, per the invoice, to the lead worker at the site (not factoring in the deposit check I sent in 6 weeks earlier to secure the bid). After immediately contacting the owner to let him know about the mistake, I asked him not to cash the check. I received no reply, and 3 weeks later the check was cashed. Now I need to go thru the hassle of trying to get that deposit money refunded. While the work performed was wonderful, the business management and
customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
