"Jesse Jones, owner of Professional Carpet Systems came today to extract an entire bottle of red wine that broke and spilled onto our light beige carpet. If anyone could get our carpet clean again, I knew it would be PCS. Jesse was quick to respond, within minutes of my texting him, assuring me he would do his best to get the stains out. He arrived exactly on time, did a magnificent job getting the large stains out of the carpet and then cleaned the entire carpet in that room. I could not have been more pleased. I have used PCS for many years now and have never been disappointed with the service. Terrific customer service because Jesse Jones genuinely cares about his customers being satisfied with his work. I highly recommend PCS for your carpet cleaning needs. I’m attaching 3 photos of the carpet before and after the cleaning. Gail D Wake Forest, NC. "

"We are customers for life. Greg is a kind, funny, honest man who helped us pick out the right grade of carpet for our home and then quoted us a price significantly less than the big box home improvement stores. We had to reschedule the installation several times due to various circumstances, and he accommodated our needs each and every time without complaint. Danny and Nicco were wonderful to have in our home. They are artists. Really. They did a great job on the installation, clean up, furniture moving (and replacement) and answering any questions we had. We could not be more pleased with our experience from top to bottom and from quote to installation to clean up."

"Ivan is a real pro. He came on time. I watched and as questions as he worked. He repaired a defect in the pad underneath the carpet. It had been installed poorly. He is very fast and very efficient. When he was done, there were no ridges and the carpet was really smooth. He did a great job for me."

"Fantastic service. They had a cancellation and was able to schedule me quickly. Most of the downstairs was hardwood and we had planned to just have them refinish it since the previous owners of the house used Orange glow on the floors and ruined them horribly. The living room was the only downstairs room with carpet that needed to be replaced. We were going to replace it with more carpet but was surprised by the cost to carpet just that one room. JH was able to give me a quote to add hardwood to the living room too that would match the rest of the downstairs for not much more than carpet. Even with adding that extra task they still finished on schedule and within the quoted budget and the floor looks amazing. Everyone who sees the floors comments on how beautiful they look. Could not be more pleased."

"I was very very happy with Floor Coverings International. The owner Marty was very knowledgeable and very detailed in providing me an estimate to have my stairs and my options for the landing. Upon installation, his team was professional and very knowledgeable as they had been installing stair runners for 30+ years. I was happy Marty was there on installation as well to discuss options, due to how my stairs were constructed. Overall I am very happy with my final product, Marty and his team worked tediously to make it perfect.  If I had gone with another company I received an estimate from, which the price was the same, I know the final product would not have been as beautiful and actually would have caused damage to my stairs. "

"I went to Bell's Carpet looking for some new carpet for a well trafficked room of my home.  The associate who assisted me, Brenda, was very knowledgeable and patient (I had never purchased carpet before).  I decided on the carpet, Brenda came out and measured the area to be carpeted to give me a final price, I paid a 50% deposit, and the carpet was ordered.  The carpet arrived in approximately 2 weeks, and the installation was scheduled for 3 weeks.  The installers came and installed the carpet in one afternoon, and they finished clean-up to my satisfaction before they left. <br />"

"Could not have dealt with a more professional and courteous group. They arrived to start work when they said they would, in fact a little earlier. The carpet installation was picture perfect. The crew new what they were doing. They had to move a lot of furniture to lay the carpet and they put it back in place as it was. They even finished earlier than I anticipated. Their sales representative was very courteous, and professional. He knew his products. I will definitely use this company again."

"Excellent results. I had just bought a 20 year old house and the carpet needed some freshening before I moved in. The house was empty of all furniture so the job was fairly straight forward, but it was done efficiently and effectively. The carpet was left immaculately clean and had a fresh clean scent. They even cleaned a couple of pieces of scrap carpet I had upon request and at no extra charge."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Chapel Hill, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
