He replaced all the decking and lattice work. The deck is now structurally more sound than before and saved me a lot of money instead of building a whole new deck. "We hired Goodfellows Painting to paint the exterior (all windows, trim, doors) on a 1930's home that needed some TLC. I was initially very impressed by John and his knowledge of the quirks and care that it takes to work on old houses and windows. He expressed that that was their specialty and they would be able to do a good job and be able to do all the prep work involved with that. However, I was less than impressed by the overall prep work and attention to detail. We had to meet with foreman on multiple separate occasions when they thought they were done, but when walking around the house I identified pieces of trim left unpainted, paint smears in places, shoddy work on the window flashing, etc. We fully recognized that our house was not going to look brand new based on some of the chipping paint, old windows, etc. And overall, they did a decent job. But, based on the 'sales pitch' that John had about their experience working on old houses, I expected much better quality and attention to detail than we got."
