"I purchased a Pella patio door & installation through a retailer that turned into a total disaster and was eventually abandoned by the installer. I called Cransten to properly install, frame out, insulate & trim the door unit. Alan did everything | asked for and more. Alan is a true craftsman who took on a very challenging project and turned it into perfection! I would highly recommend Cransten and will definitely use again."

"This was an urgent and critical need as a large chunk of the deck and walkway to the beach was taken away by a storm leaving a dangerous drop to the beach. Realizing the urgency due to a now dangerous situation (and renters on the schedule), Carson replaced the deck/walkway with proper marine grade materials and it’s beautiful- better than ever. We were able to keep our renters. For years now, we have called on Carson exclusively as we know we can trust him to do excellent work. This is especially important as we do not live locally and are not able to oversee the work. I am thankful for Carson."

"I hired Julius and his team for a concrete floor coating project, and they did an amazing job from start to finish. They were professional, timely, and paid close attention to detail. The floor came out amazing - smooth, clean, and exactly what I had envisioned. I’m extremely happy with their work and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship. "

FAQs for interior trim and decorative moldings repair projects in Charleston, SC

While the terms 'trim' and 'molding' are often used interchangeably, they serve different purposes in home design. Trim refers to materials installed at the junctions of walls, ceilings, and floors, providing a seamless and functional transition. Molding, on the other hand, is a decorative type of trim crafted specifically to enhance your interior's visual appeal. For personalized recommendations that match your home's style, consult a professional contractor.

Repairing or replacing trim throughout your entire home takes six hours. If you're focusing on just a single room or a small section, you can expect the project to take one to two hours to complete. The process includes removing the old trim, carefully measuring and cutting new pieces, and precisely installing them to achieve a polished and lasting result.

Selecting the right trim is key to enhancing your home's overall design. Common options include shoe molding, quarter-round, baseboards, crown molding, chair rails, and picture rails. The best choice depends on where you're installing it, your personal style preferences, and your budget. Consulting a knowledgeable contractor can help you find the perfect trim to elevate your interior's appearance.
