"Priority Plumbing installed a new Williamson oil furnace for us in Narragansett. The owner, Mike Cambio, provided us an estimate in a timely fashion and answered a number of questions as we compared vendors. His team showed up on time on the agreed upon install date, removed the 50-year-old furnace and replaced it with the new furnace. They cleaned up thoroughly and Mike then met me to test the unit and make sure all was in order. We highly recommend Mike and Priority Plumbing."

"Our very old copper lined water heater was constantly running and water was flowing from the overflow pipe.  Sine plumbing could have easily told us that it was time to replace the water heater and gained a larger paycheck, but they saved the old girl with a valve replacement and saved our family from a much larger bill. <br />"

"His name is George Cleverly and he is an excellent plumber. He is not the cheapest around but he is very, very good. I don't use other plumbers. I don't know what other plumbers charge. He calls me back in 15 minutes. He seems to be a perfectionist in his work. It is worth paying the extra money to have it done right the first time."

"They did a very good job for me. They were very efficient. They have dealt directly with the manufacturer who is overseas and we were able to get the parts that we needed quite quickly and cleaned up quite nicely after themselves and there was no mess for me to deal with. They are very responsive and does a thorough work. I would absolutely use them again."

"I could not have asked for a better experience. I have been through several remodel projects and I have to say this one was the best one of all. I wish I had found Stephan @ HS Remodeling years ago. His professionalism, responsiveness, attention to detail were unsurpassed by any other contractors I have hired in years past. Stephan not only did premium work on removing old tile and replacing new tile in my shower, shower floor, bathroom floor as well as installing a new linen closet but he did so without disturbing the remainder of the house. Every evening when I came home from work, my home was neat, clean and orderly. All tools and material used by Stephan were neatly arranged in one corner of the bathroom. All work areas were cleaned and organized. Previous remodels by other contractors in my home have been extremely tense as I felt I had no control over what I would find when I came home from work. This job was so different. I felt at ease and extremely confident in Stephan's ability to give me what I was looking to achieve. The tile work and all the finish work on the closet was precise. Stephan also made suggestions to help me decide on a final design for the layout of the bathroom. Hiring Stephan was the best decision I could have made. I truly believe anyone who hires HS Remodeling should consider themselves lucky to have found a true professional in this industry. I have recommended HS Remodeling to several family and friends. I would hire Stephan again in a heartbeat. I can't thank him enough!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Charlestown, RI

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
