"I called Olsen Plumbing on Wednesday afternoon and told him of the difficulties we were having installing a new kitchen faucet due to the lack of shut-offs and non-standard plumbing. The fittings I had installed were leaking after I turned the water back on. After I explained to Ron that it was not an emergency, he told me he could get back to me first thing in the morning. <br /> Ron called a few hours later and said he had some time and would like to come by to see what we had going on. He made a quick fix to our plumbing, which allowed us to turn the water back on through-out the rest of the house. He mentioned he would be back in the morning with the parts needed to install the water shut-off's. As promised, Ron returned in the morning and quickly installed the water shut-off's. He was both professional and courteous. We plan on using Olsen plumbing in the future. In fact as I am writing this, he is coming back out to do some more work for us tomorrow. <br /> <br />"

"I hired Morgan to install some grab bars in two bathrooms, a chair height toilet and two exterior railings. He followed up quickly once I submitted a project request. He showed up when he said he would, got right to work and installed everything to my total satisfaction. He was courteous and very easy to work with. I will call him again when I need additional work done."

"Great Experience. Had a slow leak bubbling up in my driveway. Plumber needed leak detection and recommended Simply Leak Detection as the top one of the 3 names he gave me. Micheal was busy but fit me in the next week since it wasn't an emergency, came on time, charged the quoted price (lower than some others) and found the leak quickly. He patiently explained what could have happened, what else might be needed and why. Job Details: Property Type: Residential Service: Water Leak Detection Location: Bothell, Washington 98021 Date Completed: Jul 2019"

"Allied Plumbing (formerly O'neil Plumbing in Moses Lake area) is one of the best plumbing services my company has ever used. Allied was able to schedule a job on short notice, showed up on time, did a thorough job and charged a fair price. What else can you ask for from a plumbing company! Well, how about a follow up call from the owner/manager, Ron Smiley, insuring the job was done to satisfaction and then going on to explain a whole host of extraordinary plumbing services that I was not aware of. Like being to do lateral sewer connections, including trenchless sewer line repairs, anything to do with water pumps, and commercial plumbing services. Ron is a smart business man that understands the value of long term relationships."

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Chehalis, WA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
