"I was very pleased with the carpet installation by Rich’s Rugs. Rich came over and showed us samples and options and also looked at some of the repair work needed on our existing carpet. Rich is also the one doing the installing and repair so no worries about something getting lost in translation. He is a very positive guy and did what was needed to make us happy. His helper Eli is also a great guy the the two work great together make a great team."

"Carpet Fair has been installing quality carpet in my various apartments and home for the past 15 years. They have installed carpet in three different apartments per year over that period. I've branched out with the Home Depot and additional carpet businesses from time to time, but no beats these guys in terms of response and installation time, price, and especially customer service (which is almost non existent with the Depot). Mark usually has the installation completed within a day or two of the order. I highly recommend for you home office or business.  "

"Excellent and honest service. Joe was able to fix much of the damage to our carpet that was done by one of the big national franchise chains. And he did it for a fair price. I would recommend DV Carpet Cleaning."

"I was very impressed overall with Knable Carpets.  They came out on a Sunday morning for an estimate, and were right on time (actually a couple minutes early!).  Mr. Knable was very professional and friendly. his pricing was very reasonable and he estimated that the carpeting would be installed within a week to ten days, which was fine. He called us three days later and said they could come out the next day.  the installation took a day and a half and they did a very professional job. the installers moved all the furniture, cleaned up nicely and took the old carpet to the dumpster.  I would recommend this company to anyone. They did a fantastic job."

"iArrived at designated time, introduced himself and I asked if he had help, and he replied he did have a partner out in the truck.  I showed him the areas and we talked about items such as what they move, what they do not (beds, TVs, very very heavy furniture) and how he cleans, how long it will take, etc.  He and his partner started on the upper bedrooms and worked their way down the steps. They then cleaned the living room and small area rug. All together it took about 90 minutes or more.  The carpet is wet when done as they use a solution to help get the dirt out. All wood and metal fixtures are left with slips or styrofoam protectants from contact with the rug.  When the rugs are done drying, they slide right out or are easily pulled from under a standing lamp or the four legs of a desk, table, night stand, chairs. etc.  The drying time varies from room to room on average about 4-6 hours. <br />    Our carpets were not terribly dirty, there were some discolorations on some steps and at the top of the stairs but no "stains" "spilled wine"  "severe track marks of continuous dirty boots"  "trails"  We also take very good care and clean our carpets (Vacuum) regularly. <br /> As this was my introduction to carpet cleaning I would say that they did a thorough, caring and professional job.  It looks great when they're all finished.  I had two estimates and went with the slightly higher one, 249 versus 300 (the extra 15 was for the area rug).  I probably could have found a lower price company, but these guys were local to my home (10 miles) and had good reviews.  I would recommend them as they were professional, clean, enjoyed their work and respected my property, and did a fine job carpet cleaning.  I learned when they finished they do all kinds of floor cleaning and other carpet work.  Good Job! <br />"

"LLB Flooring was our first experience doing any sort of construction or dealing with any contractor. It's hard to find a contractor to trust but we are glad we went with LLB. We had carpet ripped out and hardwood installed - We also had some old hardwood ripped out and replaced with hardwood. LLB was excellent. Floors look great and have been holding up well so far. Bekar was always very responsive to any questions before hiring, and even during the job. The workers were extremely nice, respectful and were very neat."

"The guys at Carpet Warehouse were fantastic to work with. We were moving into a new home and had a week between settlement and our move-in date, and we wanted all work completed before the movers arrived. (Much easier to install new carpet in an empty home.) Mike at Carpet Warehouse understood our timeline, made recommendations for carpet he knew they had in stock or would be able to get quickly, and provided us with great options. The installers showed up on time, were professional, and did a great job. The cost was competitive. I would definitely use these guys again."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Cherry Hill, NJ

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
