"I was out of town during Hurricane Irene. When the electricity went out our sump pump stopped working and we had flooding in the basement. After calling a company to tear up the carpet and get the basement dry and with another storm coming, I called Dave's Quality Plumbing to check out our sump pump and repair/replace it. Dave called me back the same day, looked at the sump pump and replaced a broken one for me, which was important because there was another big storm coming the same week. As I have used Dave before for our plumbing needs, I trusted his judgement completely. This was done the day after I called him. Quick service considering alot of people were having plumbing/flooding problems. I also called Dave's Quality Plumbing for more work the following week. We will always call him first for our needs. Dave's Quality Plumbing is the best! <br />"

"<p>Palmer's Plumbing returned our call the morning after we left a message. A home visit was arranged for later that morning. This prompt response may have been due to another job in the area, but the efficiency was appreciated. John checked under our house and found no leaks. He further checked our water meter to confirm no water was being used. Next John checked the tub valve which leaked intermittently. He told us that the valve was too corroded to be removed, and would need to be replaced. He provided an estimate should we decide to go ahead with this work. Although we will not be requesting further service at this time, when we do need this or other plumbing work, we will call Palmer's Plumbing!</p> <br />"

"Mark Quinlin replaced my Rinnai tankless water heater after trying to repair the old one. He was very thorough and professional. I felt that he worked hard to make the whole process as painless as possible even though there were unavoidable delays in receiving parts. His pricing was extremely fair. I highly recommend him and will be using his services in the future."

"The C ratings are explained herein. The installation was well done with the exception of the mounting of the bracket that holds the filter assembly to the wall. Improper anchors were used for a concrete basement wall. These failed over the first year or so due to the pressure that must be exerted in removed the filter housing. The company returned upon request and corrected this issue. The only other issue was that the installer upon completing the work just picked up and left without providing any explanation. After being contacted, a company representative returned and gave an explanation of operation of the system and an apology."

"?????⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I called in LATE on a FRIDAY afternoon. APRIL enthusiastically answered, FIRST ring, & I explained the awful noise from my sump pump. She got me on the next day's schedule. Saturday! I gave her the specs of the unit & she calmly took notes for the technician. Jimmy texted on his way, arrived timely & had all the necessary parts stocked in the truck! He completed the changeout in record time & accepted credit card payment. The entire process couldn't have went any smoother! The new Zoeller unit runs so quiet, I don't hear it at all in the house. After seeing the shooting plume of water, I informed Craig the SM & his followup exceeded my expectations. Great team to work with; excellent service, fair price! Ten Stars!"

"First of all I LOVE the end result of my remodel. The remodel took longer than estimated, but a lot of snags were encountered. The Tilesmith crew was very friendly and competent. They asked for and listened to my ideas and overall concept of finished product which was greatly appreciated. The crew worked well with each other and arrived on time and remained focused. Their customer service, follow through and follow up were topnotch. I would undoubtedly choose to work with them again on future projects."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Chester, MD

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
