"THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE USED HEARTLAND CONSTRUCTION, AND I AM JUST AS PLEASED THIS TIME AS I WAS THE FIRST TIME.THE BATHROOM IS IN THE BASEMENT, AND THEY WERE CAREFUL ABOUT PROTECTING THE CARPET AND THE FURNITURE IN THE FAMILY ROOM THROUGH WHICH THEY HAD TO PASS TO REACH THE BATHROOM. THEY REMOVED THE WALL PAPER ,THE CEILING TILE, VANITY AND STALL SHOWER WHICH WERE ALL IN BAD SHAPE. THE NEW STALL SHOWER IS NOW USEABLE AND CLEAN WITH A HAND HELD SHOWER HEAD. <br /> I PURCHASED THE VANITY, CABINET AND TWO LIGHT FIXTURES. I ALSO PAID TO TO HAVE THE CARPET REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH TILE FLOORING IN THE THE BATHROOM AND THE HALL LEADING TO THE ROOM. IT IS A REAL PLEASURE TO STEP INTO THIS ROOM NOW. <br />"

"Jeremy did the tile work, texturing, painting, trim work and replaced the basement vanity and sink.  He also did some minor tile repair and enhancements to our downstairs shower.   <br /> He did a  full remodel of the upstairs bath taking out the tub, stool, sink and vanity as well as the flooring and walls.  He installed all new fixtures, the mirror, the floor and wall  tile, and shower curtain rod.  He textured and painted the walls and ceiling, installed an air vent, refinished the bathroom door and performed all finish work.    <br /> Jeremy charged us an hourly fee and we paid the direct costs for all tile, paint, hardware and supplies. <br /> He came to work when he indicated he would be there.  He did the work in a timely fashion.  He consulted with my wife and I during all phases of the construction and provided design suggestions that helped us to visualize different options.  We were thrilled with the end product to the point where we didn't use the  shower for the first several days as we didn't want to mess it up.    <br /> We were very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to have him do other projects for us.  He was pleasant, professional and flexible.  We strongly endorse him if you need work done for your home or properties. <br />"

"Design Your Basement is an amazing service that's helping us finish our basement, so that our family can enjoy our entire house. The design process was fast and seamless. The team at Design Your Basement provides great customer service and helped us identify design opportunities that we never would have thought to include. Not long after contacting Design Your Basement, the professionals were there to measure our basement. In no time at all, they had design ready for our review, which was based on our feedback. We enjoyed our design presentation meeting and it was easy to make the changes we wanted from the initial draft design. In addition, the 3D walk-through made it easy to envision how the basement will look before anything was done. Contractors from Design Your Basement are now helping us with framing and consulting with us on DIY portions of the project. We strongly recommend Design Your Basement."

"     Scott Irwin was always punctual, always honest, always patient. His helper goofed off some, but not enough so I would complain. I did tell Scott that his helper was sometimes not on task. <br /> Scott took me shopping to pick things out. Without his help on shopping, I would still be wandering the aisles of the home improvement stores. <br />       Scott was conscientious of my health, which is not always the best. He and his helper would be very quiet and would leave early when I was ill. <br /> Scott provided many free services, such as shoveling my driveway after snowstorms and giving me items he had but did not need that I could use. <br /> I never had to worry that Scott and his helper would be anything but upright. When I had the plumbers here, I called Scott to oversee them, because I trusted him so much. <br /> The work he did is absolutely beautiful. All the cabinets were handmade. Every tile and piece of wood was inspected, and corrections were made to things that were not absolutely perfect. <br /> My house was built in 1964, and nothing had been improved in the 50 years after that. There was no dishwasher, a broken oven, no garbage disposal. The kitchen and bath are now modern and gleaming, and done with exquisite care. <br /> The neighbors have come to see the upgrades, and they are stunned with the beautiful results. <br /> Both the kitchen and bathroom were in dire need of repair (particularly the bathroom), and Scott took care of every tiny detail. The only thing I can see that I would change would be to move the oven and cook top slightly, to provide more drawer space, but it was something both Scott and I missed during the renovation. <br /> The remodel was done very quickly, in the overall scheme of things. Everything looks beautiful, with some rooms just needing new switch plates to the entire gutting and reconstruction of both rooms. <br /> I will definitely recommend Scott to anyone thinking of having any kind of work done in their home. His work in my home is absolutely stunning. <br />"

"Two workers arrived at 8:30 a.m., unloaded their truck and got to work.  It took them just under 3 hours.  They were extremely professional, tidy, focused and got the job done without incident.  They did not leave one scrap behind, and vaccumed up the bathroom of any dust before leaving the premises.  I was so very impressed and pleased with the job and most certainly will use them and recommend them for any kind of construction in the future. <br />"

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Cheyenne, WY

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
