"Ken was very knowledgeable about our problems.  We asked him about several issues; some needed fixing and some did not.  I respect his opinions.  Our major issue was a two story wall that was sagging because it was built between floor joists.  We had an extra joist and supports installed.  The workmen were courtious and effecient.  Our floor feels very stable now.

"Jackson metal roofing was very professional with their work. They done a great job and my roof never looked better. They done the job in way less time than I thought it should have taken. They were professional and I am very happy with their work and would definitely let them do it again if I needed it. I would definitely urge you to give them a call and use them for ur roofing and carpenter's needs."

"The work crew arrived on time, and, over approximately 3 days, removed the old roof, replaced damaged decking, replaced flashing, and put down deck felt, and repaired a damaged soffit.  The new roofing was the style and color I requested.  What I was equally impressed with was the clean up!

FAQs for natural slate roofing repair projects in Choccolocco, AL

If more than 30% of your slate roof is damaged, it's time to consider a full replacement. This will prevent further deterioration and avoid costly recurring repairs. A professional slate inspection (costing between $130 and $360) can confirm whether repairs are sufficient or if a full roof replacement is the better option.

A slate roof can last anywhere from 60 to 150 years, depending on factors like installation quality, regular maintenance and repairs, and local weather conditions. Compared to materials like clay and concrete, which often last around 50 years, a well-maintained slate roof offers superior longevity, durability, and long-lasting aesthetic appeal.

Yes, you can use temporary patch solutions, such as roofing cement or patchwork, to provide immediate relief for minor leaks or underlayment issues observed from inside your home. However, these provisional fixes do not replace the need for a permanent, professional exterior repair, which is necessary to ensure the long-term integrity and weather resistance of your slate roof.
