"Response to your messages really fast and did the whole job within a week. Our countertop was a small job that was difficult to find anyone willing to do it. They had tiny left over slabs at a reduced price that help cut costs for small project. The crew that came to install did so very fast a professionally. Had lots of experience and knowledge. I will be recommending their service to anyone looking for quality work at an affordable price."

"Jose was friendly, responsive and personable. His experience allows him to easily give solid advice. He recommended a few countertop vendors to find the quartz we chose. We paid for the material separately. JM Tile and Stone took care of picking up the slabs, cutting/gluing/polishing. H Cabinets was our vendor and sold us two quartz slabs, unfortunately one with sun damage that Jose buffed to help equalize the color. I’d advise the purchaser to pick/inspect/approve the slabs before finalizing pickup. Preapproval would alleviate the problem we ran into. Overall the process took a week from start to finish and the kitchen looks beautiful."

"Brian and his crew were exceptional professional and certainly knew what they were doing. The entire job was done in one day, as requested. I was actually able to go and pick the exact slabs to be used. Was extremely reasonably priced compared to other quotes for over 63 sq. feet which included thing like backsplashes and windows sills. Excellent workmanship and delightful to work with."

"The project went very well from beginning to end.  While it took several months for us to find the slabs of granite we both liked  (it took two slabs), from that point on it went fairly quickly. It didn't take long - a matter of days to one week- for the granite to be fabricated. After that, the crews showed up promptly for each step of the process - demo, installation, backsplash (the plumber was a separate contractor)- and did great jobs.  Bianco was extremely helpful at the slab yard where his design construct was placed on various parts of each slab to determine where the slabs were to be cut.  He has an excellent "eye" for design, flow, appropriate cuts, etc.  He also helped us with design ideas for the backsplash product and what faucet color would fit in with the slab and backsplash choices.  We chose sea (or surf) green slabs from Daltile and limestone subway-style backsplash material from Arizona Tile.  We wholeheartedly recommend Bianco Oliveira and San Diego Rocktops for your kitchen (or other ) project.

"Thomas was the right person for this work. Excellent knowledge of the right repair and plastering techniques. Protected the area outside the bathroom from any dust or contamination. Very polite and personable. My dog also liked him. Cleaned up the area afterwards. Finished wall blends in perfectly with surrounding wall. Pricing very reasonable. Couldn't be happier!"

FAQs for stone slab countertops installation (granite, marble, quartz, etc) projects in Chula Vista, CA

Soapstone countertops are durable, environmentally friendly, easy to maintain, non-porous, heat-resistant, and naturally antibacterial. They resist stains and cracks, making them a practical and long-lasting choice. However, soapstone has limited color options and can have visible seams in larger installations. It may also scratch or chip if not handled carefully and tends to have a higher initial cost than other materials. Overall, if you're looking for a functional and aesthetically pleasing countertop, soapstone is a solid choice despite these minor drawbacks.

Soapstone countertops typically come in light to dark gray, often with blue or green undertones. One of the unique features of soapstone is that it deepens in color over time, developing a rich patina that adds to its charm. Each slab is unique, with natural streaks and veining that become more pronounced as the countertop ages, giving your kitchen or bathroom a dynamic and evolving look.

With proper care, soapstone countertops can last 50 years or more. Regular cleaning with mild detergents and occasional applications of mineral oil to enhance the natural patina will keep your countertops looking beautiful. Thanks to its durable nature, soapstone stands up well for daily use, making it a wise long-term investment for your home.

Sealing isn't necessary for soapstone countertops. Soapstone is naturally non-porous and antibacterial, resists stains, and doesn't harbor bacteria. While you don't need to seal it, applying mineral oil occasionally can enhance its natural beauty and help develop a rich patina over time. This simple maintenance keeps your countertop looking its best for years to come.
