"This is one of the most responsive and dependable companies that I have dealt with. From the bid to job completion they were on time and responded to all of my questions. I wanted to know if seal coating would ****** moss growth, Nathan researched that question and reported that he could not guarantee it. I decided to proceed anyway because I had seen their work in my neighborhood. Process includes mechanical cleaning of the asphalt followed by two coats of seal coat. First coat has to dry before second coat is applied. Generally this can be done in one day. Crew took extra care with the edge next to a concrete pad. Overall experience was very positive."

"Craig Anderson and his crew (Mike particularly) provided a great service to us in doing what ended up being a double layer of sealcoating to a 400-spot parking lot surrounding our office building in Vancouver. <br /> After receiving bids from other providers, I was drawn to ABC as I learned of other work they were doing in nearby businesses.  Their prices and product beat the other competitors and I couldn't be more pleased.  Craig is a good professional who employs quality people. <br /> The work was done on dates convenient to our employees and calendar, and came back promptly to take care of a very few things such as some paint work on handicap parking stalls. <br /> Almost a year later, the sealcoating has remained solid, unlike other years of sealcoating in our 17 years of being in this location.  We have always had to have companies come back to seal cracks where it did not hold. <br />"

"I was impressed by the quality of the product and Jeff Garcia's promoting of the System Pavers. Mike Cowan oversaw the installation and worked to correct a problem with one of the pieces of turf. The replacement was installed this morning and my yard looks beautiful!"

"Showed up on time, got it done quick, roped it off when they were thru. Did what was advertised without an upsell. Only thing I didn't like was some cigarette butts left behind. Will use then again' <br />"

"Michael Schuster of Orient Drive Landscaping has been my go-to guy for many years.  He is a true artist (watch him prune a Japanese Maple and you'll see why!) and has great vision for what needs to be done to make a landscape both functional and beautiful.  He and his crew do an excellent job and he is always a pleasure to work with. <br /> Last Fall Michael designed and created a water drainage system for me by re-routing excess rain water from my back yard into drainage pipes that moved it away from the house.  He had to break up part of an old concrete patio,  install French drains, and used large and medium rocks to cover the area in a way that gave it a very finished and professional aesthetic effect. <br /> I am delighted with the wonderful job Orient Drive Landscaping has done for me.  The beautiful landscaping has made my home a stand out in the neighborhood! <br />"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Portland, OR

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
