"Blake Martin came out on time to inspect the roof and provide an estimate. He was very courteous and discussed different cost options with me. I had obtained other estimates, but his was the only one that was written up on the spot (not emailed later) and had a price that included all costs including all woodwork and permits, to be paid upon completion with no advance. The job would take two days, not three to four estimated by others, and the price was competitive with other estimates. Blake scheduled a date that would work for me and brought by several samples to allow me to take my time to pick a type (GAF Timberline or Owens Corning Duration, same price) and color of shingle. On the job's first day (Thursday), a crew of seven workers tore off the existing layers, removed an old electrical pipe, replaced dry-rotted 1" x 6" sheathing and two fascia boards, primed woodwork, installed new metal drip edge, metal valleys, metal pipe flashings, and four dormer vents. In addition, one of the workers came into the house to check and install all necessary smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to pass the building inspection. Blake had the building inspector arrive and approve of this part of the job. Work promptly resumed with the application of peel and stick roll roofing over all penetrations in roof sheathing, nailing a layer (two layers over the shallower-pitched garage) of Owens Corning Deck Defense underlayment, and partial installment of Owens Corning Duration shingles and ridge caps. After the end of the first day, I went into the garage and noticed three 1" x 6" sheathings damaged during the shingle installation. These were not visible until I looked up inside the garage while the garage door was fully closed. I called Blake and the workers replaced the problem areas the next morning while continuing the shingle installation. They resealed and painted all pipes and vents to match the shingle color, and they also used my leftover exterior paint to paint the replaced fascia boards to match the others. They were finished with cleanup by early afternoon, but the inspector could not come by for final inspection sign-off that day (Friday), so Blake scheduled the following Tuesday for the inspector. Blake came by early Monday morning, and left his own ladder for the inspector to use. The inspector signed off on the job later on Tuesday and Blake retrieved his ladder on Wednesday. Aside from the broken sheathing boards on the first day, there were no other problems. It has rained since the job and there are no leaks. During the recent heat wave, the house is noticeably cooler and more comfortable. The roof looks really nice and my dealings with Rexway from estimate to completion were very professional and reassuring."
