"Sean at CoreQuick did a great job for us. I had used his services in the past when I worked at a small business so he was at the top of my list when I needed help with my Mac systems and network at home. He optimized settings for MacOS, installed remote backup (BackBlaze, not just iCloud) on a few computers, installed other security software (in addition to my Norton suite), and made sure it was all working right. We also discussed next steps for home automation."

"John was available to start the work on a Friday afternoon. He installed the new outlet competently and completely. However, John made three trips to Home Depot to pick up supplies. The store is only 2 miles from my house and the first trip took over an hour. He needed to come back the following morning to complete the work because he needed two longer screws. Finally, he had quoted $200-250; but charged me $300 because the "supplies cost nearly $100.""

"Darius Aubry of Pacific Services arrived on time and professionally installed my 65" 150 lb plasma television on the wall. Darius was highly professional in all conversations and quotes prior to arriving. Upon arrival, Darius spread blankets on the floor protecting the white carpet. He took his time to insure the soundness of the wall and find the proper studs for hanging the heavy TV. I especially liked that he stripped out the size on the television on the wall with blue painter's tape. This gave me a change to see exactly where the TV would hang after installation. In fact, I decided to lower it 4" and am very happy with the final placement. Darius took his time and was careful with installation. The set is hung very nicely. He also ran wires in the wall which created a very clean installation. In addition, he wired my receiver to the blue ray, HD cable box and the speakers. The wiring was complex but it worked perfectly when we turned it all on for the first time. He took care in hiding all the wiring with plastic ties and created a very pleasing installation. He was also neat and careful with trash bringing in his own trash recepticle. He removed the trash when he left. I could not be more pleased. Everything about Pacific Services work was professional and neat. Darius was never in a hurry to finish and took all the time it needed to get it right and do it well. When I expand my speakers I plan on calling Darius again to do more in wall wiring."

"I spoke to AV Consulting via phone and explained precisely what I needed done and they said they could do it. They seemed professional. Two people showed up at my house to perform the work which was to run speaker wire from our audio system to the kitchen, install our speakers, program a distribution amp for different zones and program our universal remote. After surveying the job, the person that was to run the wire under the house, said he had a bad back and was unable to perform the work. He left leaving Eric behind to do the programming. Eric was very nice to deal with, however, took way too long to perform the rest of the work which was only partially programming the amp and universal remote since they didn't perform the other parts of the job. The programming took 6 hours because he was not fully knowledgeable on the equipment I had. Since the wire wasn't run to the kitchen, I was now left with a large part of the job undone and a very large bill for AV consulting to educate themselves on my dime for work and equipment they didn't fully know how to perform.   "

FAQs for satellite dish system service projects in Claremont, CA

Homeowners bear the responsibility for satellite dish removal. When you cancel your TV service, most providers collect their interior equipment, like receivers, but leave the exterior dish mounted on your property. If you're renting, review your lease agreement carefully, as some landlords prohibit dish installation entirely or require removal before moving out. The physical dish remains the homeowner's responsibility unless specific arrangements are made with the service provider.

Most satellite dish removals don't require an electrician since the systems operate on low-voltage connections that don't present significant electrical hazards. Handymen, roofers, or satellite installation technicians can handle standard removals. However, an electrician might be appropriate if your system involves complex wiring integrated with your home's electrical system or if internal wiring repairs are needed. Specialized satellite technicians or general contractors are often sufficient for standard exterior dish removal.

Professional satellite dish removal requires one to two hours for standard installations. This timeframe includes disconnecting cables, removing mounting hardware, patching holes, and cleaning the work area. More complex scenarios—like dishes on steep roofs, multiple installation points, or extensive wiring—may extend this timeline. DIY removal takes longer, particularly for inexperienced homeowners who might spend several hours ensuring safe work practices and proper disposal.

Some satellite service providers will remove their equipment at no charge when you cancel service, though this practice varies by company. Contact your provider directly when canceling to inquire about removal options. Another potential avenue for free removal is when switching to a new provider—the incoming company might include old equipment removal as part of their installation package. Always clarify what's included in any "free" removal offer, particularly regarding patching and repair work that might be necessary after the dish is gone.
