"The staff was friendly and professional however there appeared to have been a disconnect with the communication between the team which resulted in the kitchen sink not being secured, areas missing caulk and small section of my cabinets chipped off. These issues may stem from me being told that from one team that when the other team comes out, they will take care of it and when that team arrives, them stating "they don't do that". There are teams that work on taking the doors to the warehouse, countertop installers, etc..etc."

"<p>We had two handmade kitchen cabinet doors that were severely damaged after a kitchen remodel.  The doors, when they were remodeled, weren't put together well and had actually split into pieces.  I was doubtful that they could be put back together again, but wanted to try as the kitchen cabinets are all handmade and we couldn't get an appropriate replacement.</p> <p>I took the pieces to John.   He was able to put them back together, match the original finishes that had been darkened with time, re-glue them and they just look beautiful.</p> <p>I was thrilled.  John was professional, reasonable, returned the doors before he said he would, and his work was flawless.  I am so happy to have him as a resource for this type of work.  </p> <p>I just want to add that the doors weren't just split, one of the doors had a sheared off piece at an odd angle, he was able to fix that so it is no longer visible.  Perfect!</p> <br />"

"Just bought the house.  Didn't want to rip out the well-built cabinets but they looked kind of dirty.  Other options were to paint the beautiful oak wood, but we really didn't want to do that either.  So, it came down to cleaning them.  At the end of the day the cabinets looked beautiful, clean, with sort of a semi-gloss finish.  Looked really good and for the price it was well worth it."

"VERY, VERY WELL - Her work deserves an A+. Roberta spent enough time with us to understand our preferences, existing furniture and vision for an up-to-date condominium. In a week she drafted a plan that met our needs and our budget. She sought our input with each decision. Her flexibility along with her artistic vision transformed our condo from blah to beautiful. Roberta has an astounding sense of color. Starting with our existing furniture, she presented a color pallet that flows beautifully across main floor. Standing in the kitchen or the far end of the main floor, you can see the how the different colors and shades unify the space. Her network of professionals is remarkable. The painter she referred us to did the most beautiful interior work we have seen. We still marvel at the beauty of the colors and workmanship, wherever we sit on the main floor. We finished the plan in late October. We asked that all the work be completed by Christmas. She delivered on time, working with her superb network of tradesmen to rearrange and coordinate their calendars for our benefit. The painting was done right after Thanksgiving, the flooring was laid in mid December, and the window treatments were installed just before Christmas. Roberta contacted an artist who brought to life Roberta's remarkable vision to refinish a china cabinet in a slightly different shade from the kitchen walls. Thanks to the Roberta's ingenious treatment of the china cabinet, the kitchen blends into the rest of the main floor. We now have an updated, unified kitchen which has become a favorite gathering place. Roberta's clever rearrangement of our furniture along with her coordinated color choices has allowed for smooth transition from one room to the next, a characteristic that is so important in a condo. Roberta recommended Hunter Douglas window treatments which are soft translucent fabric and highly functional. They bring the outside light and colors into our condo, while preserving our privacy. The flooring that she recommended is easy to maintain and coordinates beautifully with the rest of the color scheme."

"I called and had a visit for ideas and an estimate within a day.  Jeff had some great ideas and at a cost I could afford.  The work was completed about 5 weeks after signing the contract due to ordering the material and getting me on the schedule.  The main person I worked with was Chris, and he was great.  He kept in contact with what was going on, and did a wonderful job.  All the cabinets were removed, the bulkheads taken out, my ugly ceiling was redone and then the cabinets and backsplash put in.  It's amazing the change in my little kitchen.  There is so much storage now and it's so pretty.  Definately will use this company again! <br />"

"Mr. Christianson and his helper John worked the first day when we were not home but the second day I was home to see exactly how particular they were with all the work.  They painstakingly went over each door and the trim over and over to make sure there were no bubbles, and that the colors all blended in well.  I saw them go over areas several times until they got it just the way they wanted it.   <br /> They covered all my counters and stove before starting, and cleaned everything up when they were finished to the point where it looked better when they left than it did when they came.  They went over my floor with a fine tooth comb to make sure there were no drips of anything that might have gotten on the floor before sweeping it completely.   <br /> We had two new cabinets put in and they completely stained them to match the rest of our cabinets and put their finish on them.  They were very parrticular in putting on the stain so that we had a chance to see it before putting on the final coat so that we could make the decision on whether we wanted it a little darker or not.  They were very accomodating in everything that they did.  As they did the work, they were fast and thorough.  It took only two days and my cabinets look like NEW.  I am just thrilled with them.  I can't even imagine what it would cost to replace 30 cabinets and 17 drawers and I feel my kitchen looks  like I just did that. <br /> I can't say enough about how happy I was with their work.  I would certainly recommend then to anyone wanting to "renew" the look of their cabinets. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Clarksville, MI

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
