"Chris Miller and his company destroyed my new patio! The sealer the morons used was an incorrect sealer - which only trapped water/moisture between my paver stones and the sealer, They look wet - don't they?...but they're not! It took literally close to 2 weeks to completely dry out or evaporate, if it didn't rain. But after a fresh rain - back to what you see in the photos. My patio looked diseased! (see attached photos). Many months went by going back and forth with no one showing for scheduled appointments. When they finally did show - what was their answer? ...to add more of the incorrect sealer -- twice more! So now, the morons tried to use a paint stripper, to get off the three thick layers of the incorrect sealer. Power washing that off, damaged my home's vinyl siding and firepit cover -- when the bits of stripper that flew off -- landed on my siding and firepit cover -- leaving permanent marks on my siding and multiple chip marks on my firepit cover, where it ate away the paint. The morons were negligent and incompetent in not covering part of my siding in the area being worked on, with simple plastic sheeting, or for my firepit cover, with a tarp. You never speak to the same people at the office more than twice - and different workers show up every time....when they do show. This all due to a very high employee turnover rate, with these workers having little to no experience. The owner, Chris Miller, is another incompetent boob, not caring at all regarding fixing the problems, or the customer's needs. He's all about the money -- just wants to get paid for a failed job! I honestly don't know how this company stays in business. They have yet to fix these issues with my siding or firepit cover, many months later, both which need to be replaced. I had to hire another company to fix my patio paver problem, which THEY DID, the first time. Do yourself a favor, and save yourself a lot of headaches -- hire someone else for your outdoor projects! See you in court."

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had asked them to power wash and stain my deck. I wanted a semi-transparent stain. Tyson told me they recommend full cover. I don’t like full cover. I gave him a gallon of the stain I wanted to use, which was from Home Depot. I even told him to go to Home Depot and use my telephone number to bring up the stain I had purchased. 1. He got stain from Sherwin Williams and it was full cover and was not redwood. It is brown. 2. They got stain on the house siding, and the metal balusters. 3. The stain was applied unevenly. When I told Tyson all this and included pictures, he responded with wow. I also told him it was the wrong stain and he didn’t say anything. I had to have them come back several times, because they did not do all the touchup (it was too late for dealing with the wrong stain). When they tried to remove the stain from the side of the house they made a worse stain. Tyson did get a good match and painted over where the stain was on the side of the house. However, there was still touching up to be done. They also got stain on my flagstone walkway and all over the pool equipment piping. They did not put things back onto the deck. When I told him, he came and started putting the things in the yard back. I told Tyson I was not going to pay him $1,000. He said he would come down to $850. I told him I would offer him $500.00. He accepted. However, he walked off the job without doing the remaining touchups, or putting everything back onto the deck. I did not see this until I got back to the house and after I had paid him. I immediately filed a claim with PayPal to get $250 back from the $500. I have to live with the wrong stain and color until I can figure out how to remove it and start over."

"Everything went super smoothly with this project. I was able to explain what I needed and have the foreman completely understand what I wanted in terms of design. Work was executed very quickly -- took about a week due to some weather. They worked tirelessly from 8am to 4pm every day of the job. I would absolutely hire them again!"

"Dave came at appointed time for estimate, carefully considered the job, and provided a very competitive quote. We hired him because of his readily apparent knowledge and experience with decks. Dave increased the framing of our deck from 10' x 12' to 12' x 16'. I did the demo of the old deck boards and railing and will complete the decking next month. The framing is solid and constructed to our intended design. Dave also put in the posts for the handrails. A very nice job! Dave is the best!"

"The crew was confused when they arrived about what they were supposed to do. After checking with the office, they said they were supposed to sand. We were unaware of this, and showed them a post with "leaking" sap that the salesman might have been thinking about. Instead, they unnecessarily sanded boards in different areas of the deck, leaving them a lighter color. We have a small fence 3 feet high and 6 feet long; to stain this, they trampled and destroyed the plants around it. When we complained, the salesman returned and told us that we needed to repeatedly stain the sanded areas ourselves over the next year to make the color more uniform again. He noted that the trampled plants were irises and said they would come back because they were bulbs (true for most of them), but ignored the perennials that were destroyed. We and other contractors had stained this small fence many times in the past without damaging any plants. So we paid $1600 but still had to do work ourselves to stain the deck numerous times in the sanded areas, and were not compensated for replacement cost and labor for the destroyed perennials. We will not use them again as we have the work done this year."

The job was not easy - they completed it in the winter time when the ground was frozen and there was even a snow day. Nevertheless, the JM Decks team was quick, attentive to detail, respectful, communicative, and kept the workspace clean and organized. They completed the job quickly (despite the snow!) and immediately hauled away the old deck parts. They checked in with us several times to make sure we were happy with the progress. Everything was done to code and the quality of their work was outstanding. I would not think twice before hiring them again and have already recommended them to several friends and neighbors.
