"Scott and Doug were prompt, professional, personable and outstanding in getting the job done. The fans had to be assembled during installation and some of the fixtures were from China so a good electrician was required. They respected my home and I paid the amount quoted. They are focused and do not waste time; they wiped their finger prints off my chrome fixtures!! I will be hiring them again in the next few weeks."

"Excellent! Experiencing an electrical problem knocking out power to both upstairs bathrooms (self inflicted) late afternoon on Dec 23rd, I bought the $200 service deal for $150. Ralph promptly responded via email and said he would arrive around 2:00 on Christmas Eve. Arriving early in pouring down rain, (he let me know he could come earlier than planned), he quickly located the source of my bad wiring fixing the original problem source. Double checking his work he found a problem with one of three wall switches and replaced it. Ralph also provided a few pointers to help  me avoid future electrical problems. Ralph is now my go to guy for electrical issues. I really appreciated his bail out, especially on Christmas Eve afternoon! <br />"

"CMC was very communicative up front and sent Martin out within days of my request. Martin installed an electrical outlet and light with a switch in my hall closet. He also quoted prices for additional projects in the house to do at a later time. Martin was friendly and clearly explained everything he needed to do. I’ll ask for him again next time!"

"Excellent work. Amazing results. We discussed our needs and the design was so much more than we expected! Our project was delayed due to weather, but were kept informed almost daily. The crew was here when scheduled and we were kept informed of the process. Very hard-working crew and we are so pleased with with our new, huge and great designed driveway! Highly recommend this company!"

"Robert and his crew are the BEST landscaping company we have used in the nearly 20 years we have used landscaping services in the Cary area.  We have used several companies in the past, and Royal Landscaping is the only company that consistently delivers everything that we asked for, on time, and within budget.  <br /> We started using Royal Landscaping after we had a disastrous experience with another company that couldn't address water run-off issues in the backyard.  Royal Landscaping was the only company that came up with a plan that appropriately managed the water run-off in our backyard.  That was several years ago, and we haven't had water issues since.  <br />"

"This was my first purchase on Angie's List and I had failed to realize that I was located outside of his zone (my zip code was too far away).  Nevertheless, he graciously arranged for a date to come and brought a helper and they worked very efficiently.  They accomplished even more than I expected during the four hours (I bought two of the Big Deals).  They trimmed all of the plants that I had, took care of all of the beddings, dug trenches and installed the edging I had purchased.  The owner also suggested some plants I may want to consider in the future given the sun and how I may want to install rain barrels to use to my home's advantage.  The work was done very quickly and they didn't take any breaks!  I was very satisfied with their work and their knowledge of what they were doing.  They cleaned up all the work they did.  Beautiful yard!  I would use them again in the future if they were closer. <br />"

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Clayton, NC

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
