"Added a parking pad alongside my driveway to allow for offstreet parking for all our cars during the winter. also widened the driveway to eliminate tight curve of existing driveway and eliminate accidental driving on lawn. Aurora Asphalt met with me, heard my problem, and offered an excellent solution. Upon completion the new driveway matches very well and looks as if it was all part of the original installation."

Customers say: Quality work

"Frank Snider & his son Buddy provided great customer service and answered - in detail - -any questions I had. They said the tear-up of the old asphalt, spreading a new undersurface, and installing the new asphalt would all be done in a day. It all took from 8:45 AM until 3 PM."

"Very well. The work was done on time and no mess was left. The Price I paid was Exactly what the estimate stated, no additions! I arranged for the work to be done while I was out of town and returned to a beautiful driveway that looks as if it was just installed. I definitely would hire Dave again and I recommend his service as his price was well below the other 2 estimates I received."

"They did the job and seemed to really take seriously issues such as drainage etc. They were out to check on the grading before paving and decided it needed to be re-graded in areas. Workers were easy going and open to any questions we had. Would definitely recommend. <br />"

"At the entry to our house, our sidewalk had sunk 2.5 inches on one side and 1.5 on the other. It had been an eyesore for several years. I was inthe process of getting bids for a new sidewalk and new driveway whensomeone suggested we try sandjacking since our concrete was in such great condition otherwise. <br /> Am I happy I did this. Aside from the significant cost savings, we were not happy that the new concrete would be a different color than our front stoop and we hated to rip up the entire sidewalk for just one problem. <br /> Seth and Sam introduced themselves and told us how the process works. They had the jacks in place and the sidewalk lifted in a flash. They then asked if we were okay with the height of the sidewalk. I had them go a bit higher and then they began filling with the sand. At that point we needed to leave, but they cleaned up, caulked and left things looking very nice. <br /> It is like we have a new sidewalk. The entry to our house is no longer an embarrassment. <br /> I highly recommend Advanced Sandjacking.. <br />"

"Modern Roadways responded immediately to my request for an estimate for the work to be completed.  The estimate arrived in the mail on or near the day promised and the work began shortly thereafter.  The crew that installed the driveway addition was very professional and meticulous in laying the asphalt.  The workmanship and attention to detail was outstanding.  After the work was completed, the owner of the company stopped by to check the work and asked about our satisfaction with the workmanship.  I have used Modern Roadways on another project which also was done extremely well.  If I had another project, I would hire them again."

"A wonderful experience. Erik came out early in April and looked at the current driveway and explained the three options for replacement (top replacement of the asphalt, removal of the rock below and complete redesign). The estimate came back in a day with his recommendation that the least expensive would be the best given that the rock below seemed to be in good shape. The crew cam on the first day late in April to remove the old surface, cut off a bit of sidewalk that we needed removed and roll and patch the rock. A couple of weeks later they came to do the asphalt paving and were done in about 2 hours. The crew was wonderful and answered the few questions that we had. They gave us the cautions about how long to stay off with everything from foot traffic to driving on the driveway to parking on it. An excellent experience and a really great price. My neighbor loved the job and hired them to do the job for them."

"Minta Driveway Services is a terrific company to work with. Tony kept in touch as the schedule had to keep changing due to the weather. They did a great job and we are super pleased with the new apron! I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs asphalt work done."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Clearwater, MN

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
