"While I appreciate the company's attempt to rectify initial issues, our overall experience with this solar installation was unfortunately very unprofessional. The initial installation team demonstrated a lack of respect for our property, damaging plants, leaving debris (including an orange cone), and inappropriately using our private bathroom despite a readily available public restroom on the premises. Following my initial negative review, the company offered a Home Depot gift card as compensation, which wasn't particularly useful to us. They also offered to address some unrelated roof repairs they noticed, but I questioned why these weren't addressed during the original solar installation. Scheduling follow-up work proved equally frustrating. An appointment was scheduled for Wednesday, but the crew arrived a day early on Tuesday without prior communication. While I appreciated them attempting to complete the work ahead of schedule, they left the roof partially finished overnight, exposed to potential weather damage. Furthermore, the crew damaged another plant box during the Tuesday work and continued noisy work – including banging on the roof – until 8:30 PM on Wednesday, violating DC noise ordinances that typically require work to conclude by 7:30 PM. This put us at risk of a city violation. Throughout the entire process, communication was poor and the lack of consideration for our property and local regulations was deeply concerning. While I appreciate the attempt to make things right, the experience was ultimately not ideal and left us feeling very dissatisfied."

"We had been having leaking in our ceiling near our chimney for almost a year, despite having had our roof and gutters and having our chimney flashing redone last year. After a number of frustrating follow-ups with our original roofer and chimney repair company, we called S&K, which came highly recommended on our community page. Sean came out within two weeks despite a very busy rainy season. He checked our roof and told us quite honestly that the problem was not the roof or even the flashing, which had been done well but the porousness of our older bricks. He applied some silicone sealant right then and told us to call him again if it didn't work after the heavy rains this weekend; he also mentioned we should just keep periodically reapplying this sealant ourselves. This leak has stressed us out for months and Sean was extremely honest and helpful. He didn't try to sell us any expensive repairs but was upfront about the problem. The level of professionalism, knowledge and service exhibited by Sean and everyone we spoke with is so rare nowadays; we can't recommend him or S&K highly enough."

Stucco repair can take an hour or two if it's a small crack repair or window caulking job. However, more extensive jobs, such as remediating water damage, patching or replacing large areas, or replacing the siding completely, can take three or four days or more. Stucco that looks or feels damp several days after rain, has discolored patches, soft spots, or other issues, may have moisture problems and need professional repair. You may also find that the drywall inside your home, below windows, feels soft. This indicates moisture behind the stucco, damaging your home's walls from the outside in.
You should inspect your stucco at least twice a year to identify any early signs of damage. Regular evaluations allow you to catch issues such as small cracks, discoloration, or moisture buildup before they escalate into extensive repairs. Consistent monitoring ensures that your home’s exterior remains in top condition, saving money on more costly repairs later.
The process for repairing stucco damage begins with the removal of all loose and crumbling material, followed by a thorough cleaning of the area. After dampening the surface and applying a bonding agent, new stucco is applied in layered coats with sufficient curing time between each layer, and the final texture is matched to the surrounding surface. This method restores both the appearance and protection of your exterior.
