"We had Babcock build/move a few walls, move our boiler, and move some electrical so our washing machine/dryer could be moved to another room. There was tile flooring done as well. The initial part of the job was fine. But when the subs were involved, things got out of control. The electrician decided to do some things in our boiler room without running it by us. Then a guy adding our dryer duct work decided to do something we explicitly didn't want done. That was fixed, but the more we looked, the more we saw the subs doing whatever they had to do the job quickly, not cleanly. Here we two years later and I am still finding sub-par work - things that make it look *I* did the job on the fly, not a "professional". Examples - the plumber cut out some copper tubing that was part of a heating zone. Rather than copper it back together, he decided to use PEX on a line whose water gets to 200F, above the rating of PEX. He insulated it, however, so one couldn't readily see what he did. Today, admittedly 2 years later, I go into the roof space and find the electrician installed some junction boxes and decided to leave them on the floor. Very quality job work - definitely show up on the next home inspection. Overall Babcock and brothers seemed fine. They choice and oversight of the subs was poor. If you go with them make sure to spec everything out that the subs will do, otherwise they will do it wrong. Fortunately we had them do a relatively small job before a possible kitchen remodel. Glad we didn't have these subs handle a bigger job that needs quality"

"We wanted to redo the tub and shower installation. The company representative showed us a wide range of materials and and roughed out a design based on what we indicated we wanted. He gave us the price for what we wanted and told us we would be notified when the materials came in so we could schedule the start of the project. The project required removing the old tub and relocating the plumbing and shower head to a different wall. They protected all the exposed areas from dust and once they started, it only took about one week to complete the job. They cleaned after themselves everyday after their work, and upon completion of the project. They do excellent work and the new shower enclosure looks great! "I needed to replace the hose bib that had a water line connector to swamp cooler, in doing so, it was found out the incorrect bib from the main house to the swamp cooler had been put on, so 2 bibs had to be replaced. Carl Wallace, the plumber who did the work , was fantastic. He was very instructive, knowledgeable and tightened my hose connection to my homemade drip system (which started this whole issue)."

Bath Fitters was responsive and sent an estimator to our home to show what they could do improve our old tub and master shower.  It was a lot more expensive than I anticipated and the shower stall in the master bathroom was just as expensive as the full tub replacement in the family bathroom.  Strange, because we put safety bars in the full bath.  It took three weeks to get the custom order materials delivered, but boy was it worth it! 

My shower door is beautiful; it looks like something out of the design magazines (clear glass, not a lot of chrome, thoroughly modern).  The master bath looks beautiful and I could not be happier or more proud of our redesign.  The greatest thing is that Bath Fitters also replaced our bath plumbing and fixtures.  They found a spot in the shower with mildew in the wall and halted work.  After getting it inspected by a licensed plumber, we were able to validate that it was not an outside leak.  After the wall was dry, the Bath Fitter technician removed the damaged material, and still finished the entire job on time. 

I called later about a cosmetic concern that I thought might be more serious.  The Technician showed me the problem and ensured that the fix was acceptable before he left my home.  I could not be happier with my decision to remodel the tub and shower.  I feel like my 1980's home just finally came into the new millennium!

"Contractor keep appointment (even though there were 2 or 3 calls expressing confusion about time and day); installed the drywall and cleaned the area.   The drywall installation was not smooth and when textured looked amateurish at best.  Before I could paint I had to sand several areas and apply canned texture-not the most professional look but time was a factor.  the next time the wall is painted will require extensive prep work to make it look professional.
Good things: appointment keep; work was done as explained; no extra charges.
Not so good: Technician was not a drywall guy.
