"Jacob's was very quick to respond to my call to check the problem and give me an estimate. They were also very quick to get the job done. They did a beautiful job digging a very narrow trench to get down to the pipe and replace it. The price was very reasonable. Actually, I'd misread the date Jacob's was coming out to do the work (I was still in post-tornado fog and didn't look at my calendar correctly-- I was on the wrong date!) They had cut the water off and it was suprise when I got to the house late in the day and discovered they had started work. I rang the company and the owner was at my house in minutes to make it possible for me to have water in the house for the night. The job was completed in 1.5 days. The workers who actually carried out the work were highly professional. Can you tell that I *really* was impressed by this company?! :-)"

"The report was very professional and detailed. The response was fast. The price was expensive but due to the detail, understandable. I wouldn't hire again due to multiple requests for a completed report and estimate for the mold remediation and just getting robotic replies that didn't answer my questions."

"This company did an excellent job waterproofing our basement.  We recommend them to everybody.  We haven't had a lick of water since they finished our basement about five or six years ago.  Before they came out we used to have up to four inches of standing water in our basement after a hard rain."

"We had them out for a couple of issues. Replaced hardware in the bathroom. Had to manufacture a sleeve for the shower head because of the way the bathroom had been plumbed. Had to change the faucet stems as they were stripped out. Toilet was wobbly and needed to be re-seated, however the problem was that the bathroom floor had been tiled with ceramic tile and a big enough space wasn't left for spacers. They had to chip out the tile to make the opening big enough to add the spacers. <br /> Fixed a leak in the upstairs bathroom, and tracked down a leak in the downstairs bath and fixed them. <br /> A couple of house calls were made to complete all the work listed above. <br /> They are prompt and courteous. On a previous job they went out of their way to finish a project a previous plumber said couldn't be done. Would recommend them for your plumbing needs. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Coker, AL

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
