"I did recieve 2 companies estimates for the insulation project. There were 3 responses but my timeline was short. Originally was thinking spray foam but wanted comparison to traditional fiberglass and blown in as well to make an educated product benefits and cost choice. I selected traditional insulation over spray to accomplish a 38%R factor of insulation for the house, that had no insulation in attic or crawl space, which turned out to be correct choice within my price range. Koala was fast response professional and performed a complete envelope of insulation to the house in 6 hours neat work, cleaned up, and very personable staff! I have noticed a huge difference with outside sound transmission, uniform heat within the house, reduced heat pump run time and needed to lower required temperature by 2 degrees to maintain comfortable living area temperature and humidity levels. I am very pleased with Koala Insulation of Doylestown for explaining the best solution to accomplish the need and the high standard quality products used and knowledgeable dependable staff to get the project done. "Bulldog added blown in fiberglas insulation in my attic and exterior walls. Workers were polite and friendly and answered all of my questions. This was a good value for hopefully saving some money on heating costs going forward. They would have received more stars because I was happy with the work, but I was less than satisfied with the details missed. I hope the owner reads this review so that he can educate the workers on improving the customer experience. There appeared to be a few wall areas missed for insulation (unless the studs were not 16" on center) and the salesman promised that my attic access panel would be insulated, which they failed to do. While they attempted to keep the mess to a minimum, plaster dust was ground into the hardwood floors. They used a shop vac that was not very powerful. The drilling of access holes left raised bite marks on the walls and the styrofoam filler circles were not recessed slightly into the drilled openings. Therefore, when the worker spackled over the plugs, he laid a raised area of spackle over each hole which dried to a 6" diameter raised patch over every access hole. I spent the next two hours after they left removing the patches, properly recessing the styrofoam slightly, hammering the edges of the drill bite marks down, and re-spackling to my standards. After painting the patches yesterday, the holes are now virtually invisible. I wish the Bulldog guys had placed a bit more care on this detail. When I mentioned it to them at the time, the worker showed me the contract which stated that they are only to patch the holes, not get it "paint ready". Honestly, it would have been better to just leave the styrofoam circles alone and let me do the spackle work after they left. This could have been so much better and left me with the feeling that they had been trained to make it "good enough" instead of taking another half hour to make it really terrific. One final thought, I was mortified that the person blowing in the insulation did not wear any PPE (personal protective equipment) to avoid breathing in dust or particles of insulation. The owner should take note that this is clearly an OSHA violation and he is leaving himself open to a lawsuit from his worker should he develop any health issues, even though the worker stated he "never" wears a respirator or dust mask. Overall, I was satisfied with the work while it nags at me that the details could have made it a better experience."

"Master Attic removed my old and rodent infested insulation, thoroughly cleaned out all the junk in my attic, vacuumed all the dirt, debris, and rodent feces, sealed all air leaks, installed rodent-proof cages around any entry points to the attic, sanitized the entire attic space and installed new insulation throughout. "It went very well. Jon arrived on time and spent a good bit of time looking all around the basement and attic, even performing a home leak test which revealed that our chimney's damper doesn't perform as it should (already called for service) and that the insulation in our attic is up to code. He made useful suggestions about potential upgrades to our HVAC and water heater, as well as our thermostat. He installed energy efficient light bulbs in the few lamps where we didn't already have them. All told: a very useful expenditure of time and limited funds (the state of DE covering 3/4s of the cost!"
