"This crew did an amazing job at a very good price. The fence came out perfectly straight and level, I’ve seen the work of other contractors in our neighborhood and DACAL does a much better installation at a better price. I would highly recommend this company for your fencing project."

"We’re very pleased with the work performed by Douglas & Arsenio. Showed up immediately to give a quote and the next day to do the job before snowstorm arrived. We have an aluminum fence with large gaps between posts, and our new puppy got through the fence. We wanted pvc coated steel mesh fencing installed on this , which they did. Part of the fence is on a steep hill, would have been quite difficult for us to do. Problem solved. The men were so nice to work with, and they really cared that we were satisfied. We will certainly use them again."

"We are very pleased with the service we received from Good Neighbor Fencing. Bob Stewart was great to work with. He helped us select and design a fence that would work well in the space we planned to enclose. He also took notice of our dogs and suggested smaller spacing between the rails on the fence to be sure our smaller dog did not get out of the backyard once we had it fenced in. In addition to being very pleased with working with Bob, we were extremely happy with the installation that Vernon and Joe did. They were careful to ensure that the fence was installed properly and even went so far as to hand-dig the post holes so that they did not do any damage to our irrigation system and underground electric fence. All that said, my husband and I would recommend Good Neighbor Fencing without reservation."

"The sales person was very good He explained the difference between vinyl and wood privacy fence. We decided to go with the stick built wooden fence because it was in our budget and since it was not pre-built but built right as needed for my yard. We were told with the size of your yard it would be done in one day, it was not. It was finished on day two The work people worked well together and kept the fence at six feet even on the sloping ground. They cleaned up after everything was finished What we did not like about the fence the bottom of the boards were not cut evenly and were visible and not corrected. The separation between the boards was wider than we thought they should be and when we said something the person that could speak English told us they were tight enough and could not change it. We were not thrilled with the answer we also thought on the bottom of the fence they would put a board along the bottom to hide the uneven boards but they did not I had to call the salesperson back out to the house to see the problem, he sent out another work crew and when I explained what wanted he straight up told me he would not do that because it must match with the top board so putting it finishing boards did nothing to fix the problem Called the salesperson and told him to come pick up the last payment. When he came over we showed him the way the bottom of the fence and he offered to send out another crew to work on it again but we have had enough and told him we did not want anyone else coming to our house. We also told him we almost did not want to make the last half of the payment, but we made it. We were going to have them look at our deck but after this experience we will not use them again for anything we need around our house. Just say NO to any offer from M.C. fence and decks, LLC."

FAQs for vinyl or pvc fence installation projects in Colonial Heights, VA

The difference between PVC and vinyl fencing is nonexistent because PVC is simply a type of vinyl used in fence construction. Both terms describe a durable, low-maintenance material that resists rust and rot. This product is engineered for long-lasting performance, offering a reliable solution that meets both functional and aesthetic requirements.

You’ll get long-lasting, low-maintenance panels that won’t rust or rot, and you’ll find a wide range of colors and designs that are easy to install. Repairs cost $30 per linear foot, so keep that in mind if damage occurs, and be aware that extreme weather can reduce performance. Overall, vinyl offers a solid balance of durability and style, though you’ll pay a bit more if you need repairs. For many homeowners, the curb appeal and low upkeep still make vinyl fencing a worthwhile investment.

Vinyl fencing is more expensive than wood fencing. The higher cost is justified by its extended lifespan and lower maintenance requirements when compared to wood. Vinyl fence material persists longer and reduces the need for frequent repairs, which contributes to its value as a long-term investment. Installation may require additional time, but its dependable performance and refined look offer superior benefits.

The lifespan of a vinyl fence extends from 10 to 30 years. This duration is directly determined by the quality of the vinyl material, the precision of installation, and the prevailing weather conditions. A well-installed vinyl fence delivers robust performance, enduring durability, and an uncompromising appearance throughout its entire service life. The construction process reinforces its resilience against environmental challenges.

The ideal vinyl fence style depends on your specific needs for privacy, aesthetics, and functionality. A classic picket fence delivers an enduring, traditional look for front yards, while a privacy fence offers secure seclusion for backyards. A three-rail fence provides a balanced design that suits both decorative standards and performance expectations. Consider factors such as desired style, local climate, and long-term maintenance when selecting your perfect vinyl fence design.
