"What knowledgeable professionals! What value! Sean Rowe and Malcolm MacPhail are focused on customer satisfaction and have the skillset to make that happen. They have access to suppliers and subcontractors and can accomplish challenging remodeling tasks. I had them knock down a kitchen wall, retile the floor, remove old cabinetry, order, receive, and install new cabinetry, rewire blind and difficult electrical runs to the circuit box, remove, replace, and replumb a kitchen sink, disposal, and dishwasher. They relocated and replumbed a new refrigerator, and relocated and rewired a new microwave. Along the way, they extended another wall, hung sheetrock, and mudded, textured, and painted the final product. They leveled and squared EVERYTHING! They provided advice as I was defining my project and demonstrated integrity during the scope definition; their bid was 14% to 15% below the next lowest proposal. Throughout the process, they constantly controlled dust and debris and removed all trash every day. When the inevitable “… but I wanted it done this way...” happened, they were accommodating and fair in resolving issues. Recognizing that cost, schedule, and technical concerns form the 3 legs of every project stool, they balanced all three successfully and met all targets. Here's a tip o' me hat to some real pros. In the jargon of ISO international quality control, I am an "ecstatic customer.""

We are a veteran owned, licensed, and insured full service company. From your roof, a new basement, bathroom, kitchen, or any other projects, we’ve got you covered.

"Steve (owner of Builds By Steve) did a wonderful job on our basement. Steve is very talented and can build just about anything. He built a beautiful brick encased bar with a live slab countertop that looks amazing. The new basement has bathrooms with a lot natural stone in their design. Steve did all the stone work and they look like something out of House Beautiful magazine. This build was a huge project and like any construction project there were a few issues but Steve bent over backwards to make things right. We are so pleased with his work and would absolutely hire him again"

"I hired this company to build a new deck in the beginning of July. It is now the middle of September and my deck is still not finished. While the time frame is not completely their fault due to material delivery they wouldn’t show up for days at a time when material was available to work with. There were times they would show up and only stay for a couple hours. The whole process was a nightmare. Their lack of quality shows in all areas of the deck. I drafted the plans myself and they were approved by the building department. I provided them with copies of the plans. They messed up 4 of the 5 concrete piers because they measured them wrong. Instead of redoing them. They poured square pads over them that were only poured on the surface for three of them. One of the outside piers was supposed to be 10 inches. They messed up the measurement then poured a 16 inch pier over it that is approximately 1.5 ft above ground. They also cut a sprinkler line that went through the pier instead of pouring over it like I explained to them. I had to replace one piece of siding that met with the deck. I bought matching siding to replace it. The workers broke the siding while moving it. They bought new siding that was cheaper and did not match the existing siding. They additional broke off another small piece of siding that was not fixed. They left material all throughout my yard for weeks, leading to my grass dying and my sprinklers unable to work because they were covered up. Nails and screws were everywhere until I picked them up. The posts were cut short for the railing, so they nailed pieces of extensions on top of the posts. They messed up fastener spots for the rails leaving holes in the railing. They originally used screws for the framing. They had to be replaced with nails even telling them before they started nails had to be used and it was in the plans from the building department as well. They used facia board for the steps until I explained to them what the facia boards were for. Leading me to be short on facia boards for the rest of the deck. They also started the deck flooring using a facia board, realized the mistake and replaced. But at that point the facia board could not be used elsewhere as it was notched for posts. I bought flashing for the ledger that was never used. When I questioned them about it he stated the siding and ledger were already put on. The quality of work was below average at best. They cut corners and I found it very concerning I had to explain to them parts of building a deck."

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Colorado Springs, CO

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
