"Everything went well! It only took one week from ordering to installation. Workmanship was excellent and all the furniture was put back in its proper place. And the carpet was vacuumed. The installers arrived within the promised window and completed their work in a timely manner. I have used them in the past and will continue to use them in the future."

"Absolutely fantastic company and staff. We were getting our home ready to sell so we had them replace a significant amount of carpet in our home, and at a great cost. The day we put our home on the market, one of our dogs decided to chew up the entire stairwell carpet. I called PriceCo in a panic, and they managed to squeeze on in and come out that same day to put new carpet down. I can't thank them enough. Wonderful customer experience."

"They came exactly when they said they would and picked up the carpets. They were ready on time, but agreed to keep them for me a few more weeks as I was having work done in the house and wanted to wait until it was done before laying out the carpets. When I was ready, they brought them promptly back and laid them for me. The new padding was cut to size and nice quality. The carpets looked great - got all stains out and looked almost like new. Very happy with results."

"We are moving unexpectedly and needed new carpet before selling. They were able to schedule me, had the right product, and installed it one day. Everything was done to our satisfaction and the overall service was fantastic."

"I HAVE HIRED ULTIMATE CARPET CLEANERS TWICE TO HAVE MY CARPETS CLEANED. THEY ARE A SMALL COMPANY, BUT GIVE THE BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD. THEY ARE HONEST ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS THEY MAY HAVE. ONE SPOT ON THE CARPET WAS NOT OUT COMPLETELY, AND THE OWNER, STEPHAN, NOT ONLY TOLD ME ABOUT IT, BUT TOLD ME WHAT TO DO THE NEXT DAY TO COMPLETE THE CLEANING AND LEFT A WHITE TOWEL TO DO IT. THAT IS REAL SERVICE!"

"Their rep was extremely helpful in selecting a color and figuring out the best width of carpet to minimize seams that might trip one of our little kids. The only problem was that their rep had said the installers would glue the wooden strips to our concrete basement floor. The installers showed up and started hammering them into our concrete basement floor, which is not ideal. Apparently gluing the wooden strips requires doing the glue requires coming one day, and then coming another day to actually put down the carpet. Hopefully the nails in the concrete floor won't cause moisture problems... Otherwise they were great; the result looks great."

"Extremely pleased with the professionalism and thoughtfulness while in our home. Truth be told, the carpet looked new afterwards- plan to hire again; highly recommended-you will not be disappointed"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Columbia, MD

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
