We only knew from Angi that he had a five star rating and has been vetted by the company. I contacted Darrel (owner) and gave him all the details about the list of the projects. Darrel came over and knocked out each project one at a time all within three hours. Each item was completed to our satisfaction, he had expertise ranging from plumbing, painting, plaster, wood work, and electrical. He cleaned up after each item, and was very fair with the cost. Now that we know Darrel and all his areas of expertise, we have already started a new list of more inside and outside projects. He did an absolute wonderful job showing me what the issues were underneath the trim, telling me options, even consulted a builder friend of his to confirm the best possible solution. The final result was spectacular and you can tell the care and pride he takes in his work. He was transparent with pricing and what he was going to do, and he asked me several times my opinion about the the work to be done and the appearance. He also arrived when he said he would and completed the work carefully but efficiently . He will be my go to person from now on if we need any handyman services in our home. "We called Machen for an estimate to tear off our old roof on our house and detached garage. They were very responsive and Jodi even came out on a Saturday to give us an estimate. He was very knowledgeable regarding the materials and products we needed, and we were impressed that he actually climbed the roof to take all of the measurements, where other contractors we had contacted did not. The estimate we received was fair considering that the roof deck would need wrapped and the amount of ice guard we needed. Jodi and his team were on time every day and got right to work. They took their time on the job and were very conscientious about the work performed to ensure it was done correctly. Jodi takes a lot of pride in ensuring the job site remains neat and takes a lot of care to ensure they thoroughly clean up before leaving for the day. We ran into heavy rain halfway through the project and Jodi even came out on the weekend to ensure that the roof was water tight before the rain hit. The new roof looks great and we are very pleased with the end result!"
