"I called Peterson to have him replace a leaky bathroom faucet and a pop up drain that was in bad shape.  I had purchased the parts, including the feeder lines so the price is for labor only.  Peterson showed up a little early, took about 70 minutes to complete the job and went on his way.  The fixtures were installed as needed with no leaks or problems.  A very simple job for an expert plumber and I could not be more satisfied."

"We needed it done ASAP. Three other companies either could not do it for at least a month or did not return our call. The Siding Guy responded to our phone call within the hour and came out to evaluate the job within 2 hours. He had wood delivered by a local lumber yard the following day and called that evening to say to expect them at our house at 7:00 A.M. the next morning. True to their word they were there on time (several minutes early actually) and they worked throughout the day and completed the job. The entire crew was friendly, courteous and professional. They did an excellent job--. we are very pleased with the 'final product'. Truthfully we did not look too much into price so I cannot comment on how competitive their price was. It wasn't cheap but was no doubt in the ballpark with other local contractors. Because we were having difficulty finding someone to do this "small job", when they said they could squeeze it into their schedule (and their price was within the range we anticipated) we just said, "Do it". We are not disappointed with that decision."

"After the tech finished with the boiler I called his attention to a suspicious accumulation of blue copper deposit on one of our heating zone pipes above the boiler. Because the boiler had been installed only two years earlier it didn't seem right.  The problem was traced to the hot water pipe coming from the water heater:  a pinhole leak in that pipe traveled back down the inside of the foam insulating jacket to drip onto the heating zone pipe below and leave the deposit.
The tech cut the pipe at the site of the leak and "sweated" a short patch in place to stop the leak and fix the problem in a short time.
This unscheduled repair was timely and effective.  That's where the extra $280 above the Angie's price came from.
I am clearly too old.  I have lost track of what plumbing work costs in 2013-14 (and unfortunately needs to cost to run an effective plumbing company).  Note: My N/A on price, above, refers to the boiler cleaning charge only.  The actual total was the $350 shown.

"I used MA Design & Construction for my kitchen remodel. Raquel and Marc were very helpful in going through the options from painting the existing cabinets through to full replacement. We started with more modest changes but after debate ended with essentially their initial recommendation. The workers throughout the project were professional and I never felt uneasy with them being around the family. As the project progressed there were recommendations that Marc or Raquel would make which led to a better outcome. Marc would also pick out imperfections in the work and insure they were addressed which was appreciated. We're very pleased with the outcome and would not hesitate to work with them again."

She was very particular with having the final result excellent. Priscila's experience was invaluable in helping us select both the type and color of paints we used. She had many other excellent suggestions as our project went along. As difficulties came up, as they always do, Priscila had a good solution every time. Flash Painters was able to put enough workers on the job to complete it in a timely manner. We never had to move any heavy furniture. Everything was moved to accommodate the painting and then returned to their original locations. There were several times we had to leave the house for extended periods of time. "After having several plumbing issues and having my sewer line snaked into, I was told by my plumber that I had a damaged line and needed excavation services. I called a few numbers that I found on Angie's List and Bill was the first that I could get scheduled to come out and take a look. Bill came out early on a Saturday morning to take a look at the problem and told me that he could have his guys at my place as early as Monday morning. He gave me a quote for $1500 which would be to cover up the hole in the pipe with a spot repair. Bill and three of his guys arrived on Monday morning earlier than expected and immediately started digging. After digging about 6 ft deep, they were able to determine that the pipe was completely damaged and had to be replaced. They were able to solve the problem and get the new pipe in place after about 3-4 hrs. Though they had to replace the pipe which required extra digging, Bill stuck with the price he had given me on Saturday. In addition, to having them replace this pipe, I also had a couple of old stubborn tree roots that I wanted to have removed so I could patch over the area with grass seed. One of the guys was able to get these removed for me while the others were working on the sewer line. I am very pleased with the service provided by W Callahan. Though having to replace a sewer pipe is not an experience that I wanted to deal with, I was happy to find a service like W Callahan for the job. I strongly recommend them for any excavation projects.
