He quickly sized up the issue - which was flooding within one of our irrigation valve boxes - and suggested a course of action, which didn't involve spending a lot of money to fix things that didn't need fixing. Because he wasn't convinced that there was in fact a leak, he suggested holding off and keeping an eye on the situation rather than immediately digging up our yard to find something that may not have been there.
