"This is the BEST company to work with!  Azim, the owner, is very personable and accomodating.  We were installing wood floors and had the rug picked up before installation.  Due to circumstances on our end, the new wood floors could not be installed for several weeks.  Azim very graciously offered to hold our rug at no extra charge until the install was finished, a big help to us as we really had nowhere to store it.  He assured me it was no problem for him; just let him know when we were ready. <br /> The delivery men arrived promptly each time, and were courteous and so helpful.  We had bought a new rug pad which was too large for our rug (our rug is not a true rectangle), and they offered to trim the pad so it would fit perfectly under the rug.  They made sure we were happy with the placement of the rug and offered to move our table back for us as well.  Azim called us later that day to see if we were pleased with the clean, fresh carpet.  <strong><em>This rug has never looked so bright and smelled so clean!</em>  </strong>It is a relatively cheap synthetic fiber area rug I bought online years ago, but we love the colors in it.  Azim treated me like I was his most important customer, and he took care of this rug like it was a priceless Persian carpet.  The best service ever - Thank You!!! <br />"

"Carpet World was recommended to me by a coworker who used them multiple times and said they did a great job.   Now I can recommend them too!  They removed all the carpet from my house and installed laminate flooring.  Mike Wheat was very professional and helpful.  He and his installer each had recommendations that we went with and we are very happy with the results.  The installers <br /> moved and replaced all the furniture in the house.  They were extremely careful not to damage anything when going through doorways or at any time during the installation.  Great company!  Should the opportunity arise, I will definitely use them again. <br /> <br />"

"Spring Carpets took two days to install our floor. On day one they came and removed all the carpet, carpet pad, carpet strips and glue. They then floated the floors. On day two they installed all the hardwoods including the stained quarter round and transition strips. The installers were very efficient. They had installation down to a science. They were on time and very polite."

"I had already purchased the tile so just needed someone to do the installation. Got excellent help picking a grout that best matched the tile. The tilers arrived on time and did a great job removing the old flooring, preparing the floor, and laying the tile. When the work was complete however I noticed that the sliding closet doors no longer slid/moved, the carpet was not cut to match the tile for one bathroom, and their was a noticeable difference between the height of the hall carpet and the new tile in the other bathroom. The tilers told me it was not their job to fix these problems. It was able to fix the closet door problems myself. I however had to call Ideal and schedule another time for their carpet guy to come out and fix the carpet/tile transition issues for the two bathrooms. It was a week later when the carpet guys came out and they did a great job finishing the job. For the price paid I was expecting someone in the original crew to have taken care of these 3 items."

"From the minute I walked into the store, Tara made me feel welcome and assisted me in sorting through the different carpet samples. They had many samples to choose from which seemed daunting, but after a few minutes of asking what my needs were, she led me to the carpet that I needed and loved. The carpet was available within a few days and the were able to install it within one week of me ordering it. The installers were very on time, professional, courteous, and did a great job installing my carpet. Tara followed up with me after the installation was complete to make sure I was 100% happy with the product. I would definitely recommend them for your flooring needs."

"Jordan, the manager was awesome. He was incredibly knowledgeable of his product and was able to come and measure the house the very next day. The plan was for the installation to take five days. The installers for the tile were prompt and efficient. The install only took three days. The carpet installation only took six hours. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home. They may be a bit pricy, but you definitely are paying for what you get: excellent service, diligent workers, and efficient installation."

"When I first called out Decker’s Carpet in 2014, I thought I was going to have to replace all of my carpet but the Decker team somehow managed to restore them back to like new! When I called them out again last December 2015, they were prompt, courteous, very professional, and provided excellent work as they had done before. In my opinion, they are – by far – the best company I’ve ever used for carpet cleaning."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Conroe, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
