"We had already been quoted by several other asphalt companies when D&D approached us. Their price was better and they were ready to do the work. They were clean cut, well spoken, polite and courteous. They answered all of our questions and concerns. The work was completed quickly and professionally."

"They were unable to do the job on the first visit because of equipment problems. Maybe they should check the equipment before going out to the site. Did the job the next day. Upon a closer look at the finished project I noted several cracks had not been sealed and some others not sealed on the first attempt. Had to make two calls to get a response. After they came and we discussed the situation, they agreed to come and reseal the areas that I was concerned with. When all was said and done I am satisfied with the end result although I think the price was on the high side. Probably part my fault for accepting the first bid without challenging the price. Owner and son were easy to work with."

"<p>I contacted Kickin' Asphalt to bid a job of replacing a driveway and associated parking pads that were deteriorating due to an unstable base and poor initial installation by the general contractor when the house was built 15 years ago. The owner of Kickin' Asphalt was very responsive and gave me what I considered a extremely fair and honest appraisal of what would be required to fix the driveway. I agreed to accept his bid and he and his crew arrived on site the next day at the agreed hour. Once the process of removing the existing concrete driveway it became apparent that the base soil was very unstable and the blacktop paving that we had agreed upon would not be the durable driveway that I wanted. The owner carefully explained the situation and proposed a workable solution that would be more durable and cost effective. The work progressed smoothly and the owner kept me updated on each phase of the work. The work was finished quickly and I am very satisfied that this project came in on time and under budget. This is a  company that has skilled workers, honest appraisals and feedback, and exceptional value for the dollars spent. I highly recommend.</p>"

"Harry Gallagher accommodated us by coming out late one evening to walk the property and discuss the work.  I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge.  He had a crew at the end of a job in town and offered me a discount if we could start the next day.  After discussing with my wife, we bit, and the work was done quickly and meeting all our specifications.  Elite installed several culverts and a French drain in front of the garage as part of the job.  The new road base was absorbing a lot of ground water, so Harry recommended adding another layer of chipseal.  We approved the additional expense, and ended up with three layers in some places.  The overall cost was higher than planned but Harry?s and our goal was to create a road that would last 20 years, not wash out or develop potholes that would require repair later.  This surface will cure hard as concrete and require a saw to get through, but is easy to repair.  <br /> We were given a two-year warranty, and they will be back to check how the road is curing in a few weeks.  We will be adding a privacy fence along one border, and Harry offered to come back after we get it installed and he will fill out the parking area up to the edge.   His experience, attention to detail, pride in his work and commitment to personal trust is obvious.  I feel very confident that we got a top-quality product with top-quality customer service.  I recommend Elite Asphalt without reservation. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Converse, TX

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
