"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"I had a question about microwave repair. He answered all my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately new parts are no longer available for model in question. He gave me part # if I wanted to call around for a used part somewhere. Got lots of good info."

"I wish I had used these people earlier. I ordered a part for my dryer and was able through their instructional video to fix it myself. Let me tell you I am "mechanically challenged" in just about every way. LOL I may have cut myself through my own stupidity but I did it. it was easy and I did not have to pay a repair man for a simple fix. Thank you so much!"

"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"Several times (during the winter) automatic delivery of propane was not performed, and I had to use portable heaters to keep the pipes from freezing. When I called them to ask about the deliveries, I was unable to get "emergency" deliveries without paying a hefty surcharge, despite the fact that the auto-delivery failures were their fault. In three events, they failed to deliver the propane saying that the driveway had not been sufficiently plowed (despite FedEx, UPS, the oil delivery company, and ourselves were able to get in and out). I learned when speaking to a driver one day, that this company makes the DRIVERS pay out of their own pockets for towing or any other expenses incurred if they get stuck, and as a result they are extremely cautious and averse to driving on road conditions that are not "perfect." This policy, in my opinion, reflects very poorly on this company's treatment of employees, and I'll never use them again."

"My GE side-by-side refrigerator started losing temperature on a hot Sunday afternoon.
On Monday I contacted the appliance store I bought it from looking for same day service - nothing for 2 days.  Sears was the same, actually 3 days.
I went to Angie's list and immediately called Mike's cell phone.  I explained the problem and he knew immediately the mother board had failed.  He said he needed to check his supplier and then called me back in 5 minutes to say he could have a mother board the next day.  He gave me a cost and I told him to order the part.  He didn't think he could get to me until Wednesday since he had other work scheduled Tuesday afternoon, which was the earliest the part would be in.  I shared my concern about waiting another day without a refrigerator and he arranged to change his current Tuesday afternoon appointment so I could have my refrigerator back up and running sooner.
A true professional, rearranging his schedule to assist his customer !!
He tolerated the 'help' from my beagles and then spent extra time leveling the refrigerator, which is nearly impossible on my old house floors.
I have already recommended him to my friends and neighbors..
Great job Mike.  I'm sure you'll be hearing from me again, as the rest of my appliances age.

"I have Rescue Link's Single PC Pack which is an extended warranty for my laptop and also has unlimited tech support.  I use the tech support every month to run a PC tune up and it doesn't cost me any sort of fee or deductible beyond what my monthly charge is.  My laptop is three years old and I purchased this warranty earlier this year.  I recently spilled a soda on my laptop and called to file a claim.  This warranty covers accidental damage for laptops and tablets so I was able to call to file a claim.  They answered the phone and asked a few questions like: what is the serial number of the laptop, what operating system do you use and about how much did you pay for the laptop.  After answering these questions, they told me that my claim was approved and that I would receive a postage paid box within two business days.  I received the box with the materials required to safely ship my laptop.  It was actually kind of funny because they even provided a premeasured length of tape to close the box.  I filled out the paper asking for my password (so that they can get into the computer to make sure that the repairs were completed) and took the box to the UPS drop off site.  Two days later I got a call stating that they received the box and would start repairs.  Three days after that, they called me and told me that they had everything except the keyboard fixed and were just waiting on the new keyboard.  Two days later, I was told that they had the keyboard and would be shipping me my repaired computer and I should receive it in two to three business days.  All said, it only took seven days from the time that they received my computer for me to get it back.  They even cleaned it.  I am very happy with this service.

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Coopers-Mills, ME

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
