Welcome to A Step Above Construction we specialize in decks all concrete,ceramic tiles all remodeling from bathroom to kitchen I am osha 30 certified and with fifteen years experience we look forward to working with you.
"I have paid A Step Above/Frank Lupo 16,000 for a very simple (no bathroom, no bar, no fancy stuff, painted concrete floor in basement) basement and laundry remodel. Work started 1st week in January and is not yet complete (currently April 27). He has had very few guys working on my project, and those who do work come in maybe 3 days per week if I am lucky, and work 9 - 2:30, getting very little work done. He has sent many contracts and I have signed and paid all but one (for $500) to the tune of $16,000. I am missing a laundry room wall, a basement ceiling, the LVP flooring in the laundry area is uneven over the sump pump, there is junk in my backyard that they left there all winter to get snowed on, I paid for a cabinet in my laundry room and an entry nook at the top of the basement stairs which are still not complete. The light fixtures in the ceilings that I do have, are not finished. I get the feeling that some of these things that are yet unfinished, are unfinished because he does not know how to accomplish them and does not have the staff/certifications/permits to do so. He does not oversee the work being done (and is currently in Tennessee when this Job is in upstate, New York). He has all but stopped returning my phone calls, and responds with rare text messages with several excuses about his workers and other jobs, and sick family members, etc. I don't even believe that any of that is true anymore. He is a liar and full of excuses. Now I will need to find someone else to complete the work that he has not finished (and likely also re-do things that were done incorrectly."

"DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! Marc Pressman came to my house and brought his looseleaf with him. He had all kinds of docs saying that he was the best. I took him down to my newley finished basement and showed him exactly where the water was coming from. He said "no problem, we are experts and can fix this guaranteed". He took my deposit and sent his team down. Michael was the man working on the job. Super nice guy, very clean and looking to do minimal damage to the floor ( he would be better off starting his own company). They installed the drain and the pump and told me my water problems were over. A couple of months later we had a couple of days of solid rain and the basement was flooded again!! I thought maybe the pump didn't work so I took the cover over the tank and it was bone dry!. The water never even went into the tank. Immediately I called the company and got a message " Due to severe weather conditions no one is available to take your call...leave a message." Three days later my message was returned . They sent someone to the house and he said ,well everything is dry now so I cant really tell where the water came in from. Lets wait till it happens again and then I"ll come back. Sure enough last week it rained like crazy and my basement was flooded again. Immediately I called Marc Pressman and he said I cant help you, you need to call the office. I told him I guess you only take the peoples money otherwise you cant help. So I called the office right away sent them pictures, and told them to send someone down asap so they can trace the water. Its been 5 days now and they never called back and of course the water subsided by now. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND WON"T SERVICE YOU WHEN THINGS DON"T WORK!!!....
