"This was the 3rd time I’ve used Axium (specifically Tim Krapfl) for home inspection. Tim is very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional! I highly recommend. Tim did the home inspection, but the services also included sewer scope and radon testing."

"The company was very professional. Asbestos Professional showed up on schedule and under budget. During my kitchen and bathroom remodel, the schedule had to be changed several times due to our schedule. Asbestos was able to accommodate the changing schedule. The clean-up was perfection. We passed air quality tests in fly colors. Personnel communicated every step of the way. I would definitely use them again."

"We had recently purchased a house and were looking to ultimately re-do the basement. Given the age of the house (built in 1912), we knew there would be asbestos SOMEWHERE in the house and testing showed that a good portion of the basement tile (which had just been carpeted over) was asbestos. We bid the project out to three different providers and got estimates all over the place - from about $2000 to upwards of $10,000. At first, we were a little hesitant to go with the lower-cost option because asbestos removal is nothing to skimp on. However, after talking with John about their process and the precautions they take, we felt comfortable going with them. Once we were scheduled, everything went very smoothly: they were on time, professional, thorough, and completed the job in the time allotted (even finishing a little earlier than we expected). John came to get them set up, and then left the work to two guys. We selected an independent company to do an air clearance test and Eco Tech coordinated the visit once they were done with the work. In addition to passing them, the testing company said that they had never worked with Eco Tech before and were very impressed with the removal job. Overall, we had a great experience with Eco Tech and would definitely recommend them."

"We arrived at the scheduled time and found Ken and crew already on site and busy. Sewer scope was soon done with a clean bill of health. I was extremely impressed with the quality and depth of the pre-purchase inspection accomplished by Ken. The defects noted and repairs recommended gave us a good feeling regarding the overall condition of the house. Great job professionally well done!"

"Provider's office did Excellent coordination with us on estimates of work to be done, coordination with our insurance adjuster, punctual and professional work in a timely manner. All materials were removed safely and disposed of via legal abatement protocols and obtained all associated permits and final air quality reports. Rich, the owner and job supervisor, kept us informed at all times of what they were doing, how, why, and when. They even suggested new hosing for the washer/dryer (only $15) which they said is 90% of the cause of most water damaged basements! <br /> MOST importantly, the provider was VERY PATIENT in awaiting for us to receive our insurance payment before we paid them (in the end having to wait almost three months for final payment!) In contrast, another contractor who finished the job (put up final walls, install new rugs etc) was 45 days late in finishing the job and then demanded immediate payment even though we told them in advance we would have to wait for insurance to pay us before we pay them. Night and day difference between these two vendors. <br /> HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone needing water removal, damage removal, abatement, and restoration or remediation services. The office manager, Michelle, is so professional and a pleasure to work with as demonstrated by her empathy and patience with our situation with our insurance company. <br /> HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! <br />"

FAQs for toxic lead testing projects in Cripple Creek, CO

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a strong chance it contains lead-based paint. Many pre-1980 houses also contain lead in their plumbing and decorative materials, so age alone is a significant red flag. Older homes near industrial areas face an even higher risk. Because you can’t confirm lead by sight, scheduling a test is the safest way to protect your family.

In older houses, lead can lurk in painted trim, window sashes, soil around the foundation, plumbing pipes, and even vintage hardware. The metal is toxic, and children and pregnant women are most at risk. Exposure can trigger developmental delays, learning problems, and organ damage. Because the EPA links even low levels to serious health effects, test every suspected surface and address any hazards right away.

A positive test means lead is present somewhere you can touch, breathe, or disturb. The next step is a full risk assessment to map exactly where the hazard lies and outline the safest fix: encapsulation, enclosure, or full removal. Repairs start at $1,000 but can exceed $10,000 for complete elimination, so act quickly and hire certified pros to keep your family safe.

EPA lead certification proves that inspectors, risk assessors, and abatement contractors follow federal safety rules under the Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Program. The credential costs an average of $300, and certified professionals can legally test, contain, or remove lead hazards. Hiring a certified pro protects you from fines and ensures the work meets strict health standards.

Lead-based paint looks no different from any other paint, so you can’t identify it by color or sheen. Even flawless walls may hide it. If paint starts chipping, flaking, or peeling, schedule a professional test right away. Only laboratory-grade testing confirms lead and guides the safest fix for your home.
