"I had a rather urgent Hot Water Heater emergency and a friend recommended Randy. He passed on my contact info and within minutes Randy reached out to me, listened to my issue and had a plan of action in place. Even though it was getting to be the end of the day and he was still over an hour away coming back from a previous job, he headed straight over and arrived as expected with all the parts and tools needed. His work was efficient, knowledgeable, respectful of my property and he was very personable. He resolved the issue quickly, gave advice on how to prevent similar issues in the future and even went the extra mile to make the next guy that ever has to do plumbing work for us has an easier time with the various fittings and lines. I was so impressed that I even hired him for additional Septic work I need done. Randy is a hard worker, takes pride in his work and charges a VERY fair amount for the work done. I strongly recommend him for all your plumbing and handyman needs!"

"No problems with the quality of the work or the time it took, but it was surprisingly expensive. So much so that I almost regretted having the work done. The plumber found the shut-off valves inoperable and began replacing them without telling me about it or the additional cost. I should have looked over his shoulder more often and asked more questions, but I did not. Any repairman beginning additional repairs without asking really rubs me the wrong way and leads to a "B" rating at best and a "No" on hiring again. Learn from my mistake: make certain that you do your research on pricing and agree on a price range and scope of work with Geiler (or anyone, for that matter) before they begin the work."

"Our experience with Indiana Crawl Space Repair was excellent. They presented a plan and we were under no pressure to accept, but we are glad we did. The crew worked hard everyday to complete the job as scheduled. They did an excellent job in repairing our floors and crawl space. I wouldn’t hesitate at all recommending this company for your crawl space repair needs. Good job!"

"Mike Craw came with someone he was training.  They arrived on time, took up the toilet, replaced the wax seal, and then raised and leveled the toilet.  Our pipes are old so he explained that eventually the pipes would probably have to be replace because of corrosion but that it could wait.  He then cleaned out the main drain from the toilet which greatly improved the flushing capacity.  I would definitely use Craw Plumbing again."

"They were an A+ provider to work with. They worked so hard, built a custom ladder to get down into the cistern to what was a carpet of like 6" of tree roots. They were the most awesome group of guys, had a great work ethic and cleaned up well after themselves."

"I did not receive any call backs from them. Daniel did not follow up on request for something I would like to be done. After the job was done. I requested his opinion and further photograph. I got no reply. The workers were okay but Daniel was not."

"I received my radon results in a timely manner. I did not hire them specifically, (so, I cannot say I would hire them again) the local company contracted them for this service. The home inspector I hired, handled this service for me and included the results in his report."

"They came, and my hot water heater that I had for years had messed up and they came and saw it was rusted up. They called the insurance company and got me a new one. They came back the next day and put it in."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Cross-plains, IN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
