"Overall Jarren is a professional and I would recommend his work. But... I did have one major issue. The 2000 square ft, 8-in thick, concrete slab was poured on clean bluestone, 24" deep. He did not vibrate or compact the stone before pouring the concrete. I know because I was there watching them install. It was made very clear that it was very important to do that. We talked about it on several occasions and it must be done. I had asked him to do that and he said he would do that but he did not do that. I followed up with him on email about the issue but he has not yet responded. This was not a major expense to do, so I'm not clear why he would cut a corner on this part of the project that's so very important to do. Perhaps it was just an oversight?"

"Gilder and his crew were amazing. The entire process from initial contact through completion of the work was fast and seamless. Well had them weed and clean out 4 overgrown beds in the front of the house and create a new bed on the side of the house. They mulched all 5 beds and purchased and planted 5 5-foot Holly trees along the side. It looks amazing and the quoted price was very reasonable. The crew arrived on time and were very professional. We will definitely use them again in the spring to complete the back yard and do some additional plantings."

Then every week or so he checked back in with a firmer date and came to start the job and finished it the next day, when he promised. Many contractors don't live up to their commitments or they start the job, go off and do other jobs, then come back to your project, which extends the timeline. We also like to support local small businesses, which Joe is. As far as price goes, we had 3 estimates and all were about the same. Bottom line, don't hesitate to hire Joe for your paving project; you'll be happy you did!"
