"Our floors were wet but we couldn’t find out where it was coming from. Lightning Restoration sent a team out right away and solved the mystery! After explaining the issue and presenting options they helped us submit a claim to our home owners insurance and set us up w all the contractors we needed to get our house back. They were a godsend and made an otherwise awful situation bareable. Great communication, friendly staff, and seasoned experienced specialists."

"Recently when my house was under contract to sell, the Buyer's inspector found a long list of things that were not at all listed on my purchasing inspection. These problems were there at the time I purchased my home, and I would not have purchased it had I known. There is no way your inspector could have missed all of those blatant problems when the current inspector found them all. I lost my house contract and must now pay out of my pocket to fix all of those glaring problems. I will be out at least $20,000 for their mistake! This is a disaster that is killing me financially, and I want to be reimbursed for their negligence of my house. I called an attorney to sue them, but I don't have the money to pay an attorney because I have to pay all of this to fix my house. I then tried to leave a "review" on their website, but they only take positive reviews and have denied both of them. I have both inspection reports. Stay away from USA Home Inspections!"

"Would give negative stars if possible.  It was a total nightmare and we fired them! The big issues were that Larry lied to us and said we didn't need a plumbing permit when in fact we found out that we did. Several things had to be done over once and even twice because of the errors caused by careless work habits. We are experienced home renovators who were tired of doing the work ourselves so we hired Gladiator. Some of the issues were - we pointed out a pipe protrusion on a wall and told them they would need to build the wall out to allow for the pipe.  They did so and it still wasn't built out far enough (but they thought it was ok) so they had to add another layer to avoid the copper pipe from being bent into the wall when the backer board went up. On a different wall they left a gap between the wall stud and the backer board that would have resulted in the tile wall being cracked when the handheld bar was tightened down. The shower pan liner was not to code. He took shortcuts and didn't want to put any waterproofing in the shower niche (a place that holds water) or on the shower walls - he was only going to do the seams only even tho the bid said waterproof the walls. The tile guy had to do all of that before he could even start his job. The plumber was a joke- he set the valves at the wrong depth (had to be re-done two more times to get it right) and the handheld was put on the opposite side - after I pointed to the location I wanted it. Then it was put too close to the wall and had to be moved again! The shower drain was installed incorrectly which resulted in it being filled with concrete that leached into it! The floor had to be jackhammered up for the repair! They told us we were difficult to work with after we had fired them - I guess it's because we know what we are doing and caught their mistakes and wanted things done right the first time! We feel sorry for the unsuspecting homeowners who use them. "

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Crystal-springs, FL

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
