"Called Advance Plumbing Service because of a water line leaking under one of my rental houses. They stated they could be there in 30-35 minutes. About 20 minutes later, they pulled in the driveway. John quickly located the leak and turned the water off. John explained that I had a 3/4" hot water line leaking and that he could repair it for $60. I told him I was expecting it to be more being that it was the weekend. He explained that his rates were the same any day of the week. Because his price was so reasonable, I asked him to give me a price to replace the water heater as well. The tenant had complained that the hot water ran out very quickly. John checked out the heating elements and thermostats on the water heater and determined that the lower element was bad. He offered to repair it rather than selling me a new one. I appreciated this gesture but I had him give me a price for a new water heater as well as fixing the leak under the house and his price was $675. I was very pleased with that price and told him to go ahead. John immediately called another one of his guys to bring a new water heater and he started with the leak repair. Within 1 hour and 20 minutes of his arrival, the leak was repaired and the new water heater was installed. I could not have been more pleased. When John handed me the invoice it was only $625. I told him he had quoted me $675. He said that the job went exceptionally smooth and that $625 was all I owed him. I could not have been more impressed with Advance Plumbing Services punctuality, professionalism or price. I will be using them from here on out for all of my personal plumbing needs as well as my rental properties."

"Franklins crew arrived as schelduled and after inspeccting the pipes and septic system, determined it was NOT the main drain but merely a busted tub drain that had been damaged during a recent remodel. While there they replaced a p-trap, jetted the lines, emptied the septic tank and replaced the busted pipe. Their crew was AMAZING! They knew exactly what they were doing and didn't go out of their way to break the bank. The work was done in a timely manner and I was notified about each repair or procedure in real time via text or photos or call. "I used Angie's List to contact Mr Hook (email).  After a week and no response, I decided to call him.  Mr Hook answered his phone promptly and professionally.  He said he replied to the email (I double checked, none in my Inbox, or Spam folders).  Well, I took his word for it.  He said he'd be at my home at 4PM to gather information to provide an estimate.

He and an associate of his showed up promptly on time.  They took measurements and said they would contact me with an estimate on Monday or Tuesday (this was a Friday).  Note, I was a bit disappointed that his associate stepped in the mouse trap pads I set in the closet - even after I pointed them out to him.  Then he tracked the sticky stuff on the bottom of his shoe around the house.  But, the house was messy (remodeling) and so I didn't think to hold it against him.  Just made for some additional cleanup for the wife and I.

I did not hear from him on Monday or Tuesday.  I called him on Thursday to figure out what was up.  No answer or call back from voice mail I left.  Tried again on Friday... same result.  Then I think it was the following Wednesday I get a call from Mr Hook.  He said he had trouble understanding my phone number I left on voice mail.  He asked what he could do for me.  I reminded him of who I was.  He said "oh!  yeah... someone stole my workbook"... so that was why he didn't call me.  He said his partner would be back later in the afternoon and that they would quickly finish out the estimate and call me back that evening. (Funny... if they lost the workbook with all the info, how would they remember all the dimensions to make an estimate?)

Well, needless to say, did not get a call back that evening as promised.

He may do fantastic work, but I guess I'll never know."
