"I hired them to remove snow from my roof. Came out the next day in extremely cruddy weather, snowy and very windy. I have a 2 story house so it s a pretty big job and on top of that there was 2-3 ft of snow on both roof levels. Original thoughts were 1 day would be enough however it turned into a 2 day job. Second day here early as they said they would and worked throughout the day. Communication was good via text. Notified me they would need a second day and also of them leaving for an equipment run so I knew why they weren t there when I got home from work. Honored price quoted even though a second day was needed and price quoted was very, very good. Bottom line, snow is off roof and it looks great. In moving some snow piles from the roof away from house I have not come across any shingle pieces. Nice people, I would hire again."

"Nick was very professional from beginning of quoting a price to the completion of the job. His staff was friendly and worked hard each day. Once price was determined Nick provide samples of colors I could choose from. A date was picked and he and his crew showed up on time and started the work. At the end of work day the area was cleaned up and equipment set aside out of view and way. The project was delayed because of rain one day and was completed the next day. Time was spent with me reviewing the work completed. Any flaws I saw were corrected immediately. Once I was fully satisfied payment was requested."

Decks have become a very popular, low-cost way to add living space to a home and provide a great space to relax, entertain friends or enjoy outdoor dining. However, like all wood services, they need to be properly maintained. Because wood decks are subject to the damaging effects of weather, it is critical to have your deck cleaned and protected on a regular basis.\n\nA poorly maintained deck quickly turns grey in color as it deteriorates due to dirt, mold and algae, gradually tearing apart the surface of the wood. Soon splinters will form, creating a rougher surface even more inviting to dirt and grime. We also offer a sanding process like no other company, removing old paints and stains.

"The finished basement walls, floors and furniture were well protected.  Cardinal Painting was very professional and respected our home and belongings.  The crew arrived exactly when promised and worked all day, each day until completely finished.  They did all the clean-up and left our home as if they were never there, except for the beautifully finished painted ceiling and bedroom.  Mark also offered to return at any time to do any touch ups if we wished. <br />"

"Very good experience! Kathy walked me through the entire process. She helped design and redesign my kitchen multiple times to get it exactly the way I wanted as I changed my mind multiple times. She was very patient and professional every step of the way. She informed me of the costs and I was very comfortable working with her. There was one cabinet door that was not sealed properly; she promptly took care of it and it was replaced at no charge to me. The most impressive part of the whole experience was that every time I walked in the door, the employees knew my name and welcomed me."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Curtis, MI

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
