"It was incredible. Tony and team handled everything I needed done and did it with professionalism. He is exceptional at doing it right and repaired some work done by other bad contractors. There was always great communication and clear explanation of alternative solutions as well as ways that might save in cost. The overall cost was great and less than competitors that weren’t nearly as good in quality. He is my go-to handyman and I highly recommend to others."

"Mack and his family were professional and helpful. Mack repaired badly rotted fascias and soffits, re-built dental molding, and re-installed gutters, using superior materials to what was there before. The work was completed quickly and efficiently, and the cost didn't break the bank. Can't recommend them enough: good people, good service, good work, and good prices! Thank you, Handymack."

"Caspian homes did a good job replacing our bedroom and master bedroom windows. They also replaced the insect nets on our patio and did various wood repairs, all of the work was performed in a professional manner. I would hire them again for another job."

"My gutters were cleaned, but the price I was quoted and paid was supposed to include repairs. After it rained there were several places that still needed repairs."

Hello I’m Vince. I’ve been in commercial construction about 12 years. I’ve also had about 3 of those years doing residential work. Anything between pressure washing all the way to major renovations such as bathroom remodels, finishing basements. Can pretty much tackle any job, and pay close attention to details on my work. Current job has me traveling a lot for work I have 2 little girls that i want to be home for. Switching over to residential work in hopes of achieving that. God bless and thank you for the work

FAQs for wood stairs and railings repair projects in Dacula, GA

Hiring a pro to refinish wooden stairs means labor makes up 20% to 30% of your total budget. That price covers sanding, staining, and sealing each step. In most cases, a certified refinisher can tackle a 10-step staircase in about two hours, then apply stain and sealant for a durable, eye-catching finish that stands up to daily traffic.

A pro can sand a standard 10-step staircase in roughly two hours, then needs another four to six hours for each coat of stain and sealant to dry. DIYers should budget up to a week for sanding, staining, and sealing in stages. With a crew on site, the bulk of the work is completed in a single day, minimizing disruptions while still achieving a high-quality finish.

It’s possible to refinish stairs without full-scale sanding by using chemical strippers, power buffers, or simply layering a fresh finish over the existing coat. Chemical strippers break down old stains and sealants, while buffers quickly shave off surface material. Even so, a quick hand-sand with fine-grit paper helps the new finish bond properly and look smooth. As always, suit up in protective gear and follow product directions to keep your wood—and yourself—safe.

For most stair projects, you’ll want two sandpaper grits. Begin with 80- to 120-grit to strip the old finish and even out rough spots, then move to 150- to 220-grit for a smooth, ready-for-stain surface. A power sander speeds up the coarse pass, but switches to hand sanding with the fine grit in corners and along edges to keep abrasion even and give stain or sealer something to grab onto.
