"My family has hired G.F. Sprague and Company since the mid-aughts to repair and/or replace the gutters, downspouts, and slate roof on our 1880s-era home, and we have had nothing but good experiences with the company through the years. Most recently (this spring), we were fortunate to have Paul Elliott and his crew rebuild three porches on the house, and they did a fantastic job. Paul is not only a talented roofer and carpenter, but also a skilled communicator, delivering technical observations and recommendations in a way that was easy for us to understand, so if you’re lucky enough to have him assigned to your project, your building will, quite literally, be in good hands. "FRS Roofing won the bid to fix the main slate roof and the 4 rubber porch roofs on my home. Chris from FRS provided the winning estimate after taking a meticulous inspection of the roofs which included identifying the number of slates needed to restore the main roof. He also explained why the rubber roofs installed by a local contractor 20 years ago had prematurely failed. The FRS work crews assigned to our project were all skilled and knowledgeable of their craft. Every crew member possessed a good demeanor and showed respect for our property. Once started, the job was completed without delay as can sometimes occur when a crew is pulled to work on another project. An unforeseen delay did occur when the chimney was being re-flashed. During the bidding process, all visible sides of the chimney appeared to be in fair shape. Once the crew could see the far side of the chimney, they discovered it was completely devoid of mortar. I was shown a photo of this miracle house of cards and immediately authorized a complete rebuild of the chimney which FRS performed at a reasonable additional cost. There were no surprises with the rubber roofs. The original fiber board underlayment which was disintegrating from water damage was replaced with a new material that is impervious to water. Also, the proper rubber was used on the edge strip to prevent it from peeling off as had happened on the old rubber roof. Overall, I am more than satisfied with the job and would not hesitate to use FRS roofing again for any property new or old!"
