"Elvis has a great work ethic, he calls you back, shows up on time and works efficiently and finishes on time or better. He made our floors beautiful ! They were stained with tar from the old underlayment and pretty horrible looking. Some of the wood needed to be replaced, he was very skilled in fixing all the repair issues. My husband and I highly recommend him."

"Anthony and Andy installed new wood in the area damaged by water and they staggered it perfectly. You can tell the difference between the existing and the new flooring. Then they refinished the entire flooring that covered two rooms. The estimate was reasonable and the work took a week. It looks so good we donâ t want to cover it with rugs. We will call them to put hardwood on the stairs and hallway upstairs in the future."

"My kitchen floors came out great, and they make the whole room look better. They showed up on time, and got right to work. The room was done quickly because they suggested using a water-based finish that let them apply more than one coat a day. I just want to say thanks for the hard work and I’m so happy with my floor."

"I had wood floors refinished throughout the house. BFA floors had a team available when I needed them, and were able to complete the job on time, and beautifully. The guys were very friendly and professional. My one complaint is that I found myself doing a lot of dust cleanup the day after they finished, but that was not unexpected. It still looks great two months later, and I expect it to last a long time."

FAQs for wood flooring refinish projects in Danville, ME

Rental sanders can address moderate surface damage, but their effectiveness depends on scratch depth and overall floor condition. Drum sanders offer the most aggressive removal capability for deeper imperfections. However, if the damage extends into the wood structure or affects large portions of the floor, board replacement by an expert might be necessary before sanding. Consult a flooring professional for help.

Always thoroughly review the manufacturer's operating instructions before starting. Wear appropriate safety gear, including goggles to protect your eyes and a respirator to prevent inhalation of dust. Inspect electrical components before each use to prevent shock hazards. Keep children and pets away from the work area, and maintain a clean space by frequently vacuuming dust accumulation to prevent slipping and to ensure you can see well.

Sandpaper requirements depend on floor size, condition, and the sanding approach. Plan to use multiple grit levels (coarse, medium, and fine) with at least one to two sheets per 100 square feet for each grit. Floors with significant damage or multiple finish layers will require more coarse-grit sheets. Purchase extra supplies before beginning because running out mid-project can cause visible inconsistencies in the final result.
