"Flowseal did a nice job but the process was a little bit bumpy because of some repair/touch up that needed to be completed, which they didn't complete until several months later. They communicated well upfront on how the project would be carried out and overall I'm satisfied with the job that was done."

"I had a big concern because water was coming in from the asphalt driveway erosion next to my garage. John and Jerry company is the only ones who offered to help with the drainage and help prevent more water coming in to my lower level in feb. Jerry worked very hard to stop the water leakage during the winter when it was not yet time to work on the asphalt and put in a concrete apron. Now in the spring at the end of April they came out and added filling and repair to the damaged area which included part of my garage floor. There was so much more detail that I probably won't get right to fill in here but at the end I have a nice level area with a beautiful concrete apron that just doesn't seem like it could be any nicer or more perfect. I appreciate very much how the communication went and the quality of the work. They also put in the best product upgrade as Jerry explained. I was corrected about how I had over paid and told a lesser amount to make out my final check for. "

"There were 2 phases to the process four days apart. Day 1: removed existing driveway; repaired frost block at edge of garage floor; added class 5 base material and regraded. Day 2: paved with 3" compacted MN DOT 2360 MV4 asphalt. The two different crews arrived promptly at 7AM and were finished by 9AM. Both groups were highly professional, courteous, and meticulous in their respective jobs. Excellent results and reasonably priced."

"The company came in and took out the old patio in one day, then replaced with a new concrete patio about a week later. They did a wonderful job on the new steps and the foundation for the patio. They were very careful and respectful to my house and yard. They had to break open sections of my old fence to create break lines in the patio, but put the fence back together after they were finished. Everything was cleaned up extremely well after they were done. They answered any questions I had to educate me on the concrete and treatment. They also had to make another trip out to fill in some open holes from the steps to the house. There is also a guarantee on the patio for 10 years which was the biggest seller to me. The prices were in the middle in comparison, but they had the best sell for the quality of the concrete and the warranty of 10 years. Every other company either didn't have any warranty or it was at most a year after installation. I would highly recommend."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Elk River, MN

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
