"Great Service from this company. Replaced main LED in refrigerator and diagnosed wire shorting out in freezer LED. Returned the next day with a freezer LED and replaced it at no extra charge for additional service call or light. An expensive repair that was made a little better by this company. I would recommend them for any appliance repair. Good people providing great service."

"My home was built in 1926 and there were two ceiling fixtures that were of concern to me. The bulbs burned out frequently and with vibration from the upstairs rooms the lights would blink. Sparky replaced the two rather unsightly fixtures and "cleaned up" and renewed the old wiring. I was most pleased with the looks of the fixtures and feel safer now. And it is great to have plenty of light in the closet. I'm certain that my wardrobe is better coordinated now. The work was done efficiently and everything cleaned up nicely."

"I would HIGHLY recommend Vinny for your appliance repair. They contacted me within 30 minutes of reaching out through Angi, they showed up exactly when they said they would and let us know what was wrong and the cost before moving forward. More importantly they drove 45 minutes away on a Friday afternoon to get the part to ensure we got our dishwasher repaired right away. They were incredibly polite and professional and I will DEFINITELY be using Vinny for my next repair and recommend you do as well."

"It took them about 2 weeks to finally fix the issue. We had to go to the laundry mat the whole time. It started leaking again after they left, when we were told it was un-repairable. They washing machine was covered under warranty, but it took at least 2 months for the new machine to be installed from when I had the original issue. When you have an issue with any of your appliances, they subcontract out the work to a local company. The companies that they subcontract the work out to can lead to some bad experiences sometimes. It can take some time for American Home Shield to get a company to come out to fix the issues though (Sometimes days, or weeks).  I pay a $75 service fee for each time I call them. I have an annual contract with them, but I pay monthly. I sometimes wait 2 hours on the phone on hold with them, and then the line will disconnect. This is beyond frustrating when this happens. I have not had too much luck with this company."

FAQs for appliance (smaller size) installation and replacement projects in Delafield, WI

Garbage disposals last around 10 years when properly maintained. If your unit is getting close to that age or repair costs are increasing, it might be time to consider a replacement. Regular maintenance and careful use can help maximize your garbage disposal's performance and help it reach its maximum lifespan.

There are several signs to watch for that indicate your garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Replacement may be necessary if it doesn't work even though it's properly connected, the blades are worn and causing delays in operation, a persistent foul odor that won't go away, or leaks coming from the bottom due to a compromised seal. If you're experiencing any of these issues, it might be time to consider getting a new garbage disposal to keep your kitchen running smoothly.

A plumber or handyperson can install your garbage disposal if the electrical connections are already in place. If you need additional electrical work, you'll also need to hire a qualified electrician to handle the rest of the job. Hiring local professionals ensures the installation is safe and up to code.

It’s important to avoid putting certain items down the drain to keep your garbage disposal running smoothly and avoid clogs. Expandable foods like pasta, rice, oatmeal, and bread can swell and cause blockages. Coffee grounds, grease, fats, and oils can accumulate and create clogs. Hard items such as meat bones, nuts, and fruit pits can damage the disposal blades. Eggshells, potato peels, and fibrous vegetables such as celery, pumpkin, corn husks, artichokes, onion skins, and asparagus can wrap around the blades or obstruct the pipes.

Not every sink is suitable for the installation of a garbage disposal. The compatibility of the sink with the disposal depends on the material and structural integrity. While many standard sinks support these units, fireclay sinks are prone to cracking under the added stress and should not be used. Confirm that your sink can securely accommodate the disposal before installation.

Choosing the correct size garbage disposal depends on your household size and how much waste you produce. A 1/3–1/2 horsepower unit should be sufficient for households with one to two people. If your household consists of three to six people, a 1/2–3/4 horsepower unit is recommended. FA3/4–1 horsepower model will be necessary. For larger households of five to eight people
