But he is dead on the money with reframing and adding extra support in that system so I am confident that he not only fixed the problem; he has prevented any major downstream problems. Another unexpected problem happened when Gary was going to fix a leak in our porch roof. What looked like a caulking job has turned into removal of water damGe stucco & trim to replace. But also he had to repair a bad roofing job where they cut shingles way back from side of house & did not put flashing. We found our same shingles at Beacon Building and Gary reshingled the area which was about 1/3 rd of porch size. He was so careful to rebuild the valley and cut shingles to perfectly match the pattern along with replacing flashing; tar paper ; and moisture barrier. He does what I call a triage of the problems and discusses his plan of attack with me. Then he methodically goes to work . Even after a long day on the ladder or scaffold; he always cleans up the area never leaving a mess. He is a polite, amiable young man who I find to be good hard-working man who is honest as day is long. We still have work going on but I go to sleep Thankful for this fine Handyman and plan more jobs in future where I only want him to do…."

"The home was older with 2 working systems and an abandoned system, this had been revised over the years before I purchased the home so I am sure the configuration was complicated. Several things they fixed correctly, however, when the new duct work was installed neither of the guys that originally evaluated the system was present and some of the duct work was not installed properly - ducts were left too long and kinked into spaces reducing airflow and two supply lines were also connected to returns. I actually felt the cold air blowing out of both the supply and return ducts so I know the wrong ducts were connected in two rooms.  Old duct work that had been connected to a newer system was not recognized in the original evaluation so was not replaced and those rooms went from poor air conditioning to no air conditioning. Two companies I asked to review and estimate corrections to the Tasco repairs both checked the abandoned system for working ducts as part of their review and mentioned that is a common problem they always look for. Laine, who originally inspected the system and recommended the repairs, and is the reason I chose Tasco, never returned to the property again...not to oversee or check the work despite my request to do so. When it was time for the inspection, Tasco was suppose to be present but did not show up and the inspection failed, requiring a repeat inspection and another afternoon of my time. There was a representative from Tasco for the second inspection. In their defense, Tasco was responsive to my calls and was going to try to address the problems but by then I felt it better to use a company where the same person would supervise all the work for the revisions and anything new I needed in the future.

"I saw a coupon on Angie's List for the garage door insulation.  Before buying the coupon, I read through most of their website (user friendly and easy to navigate) and then called the company and spoke to Greg at length.  He was courteous and patient about giving me product details and providing information on other services ReachBarrier offered, but never acted like a salesperson.  I told him I'd buy the coupon and have blown-in insulation installed as well.  The price quoted was very reasonable and the office follow-up for scheduling came within hours.  They had availability right away, which was a pleasant surprise, and were very nice about moving the date later when I had a conflict.
The technician, Nick, arrived 5 minutes early.  His work van was spotless and professionally painted with company information.  Nick was polite, neat and clean in appearance, explained what he would be doing and about how long it would take, then went to work right away.  His helper (sorry, don't have his name) presented himself the same way. 
The work took two hours.  The application on the garage door was done tastefully and looks great.  The blown-in insulation was installed very well, even given that we have plywood decking covering part of the attic space.  They didn't bring a copy of the receipt, but a quick phone call to the office was all it took - I had one in the mail in 3 days.  They also offered to send it electronically.
Even though we're past the 100 degree temps, I can tell the air in the garage is not nearly as hot as it was prior.  I used another company years ago to insulate my house attic, and we were happy with their work, but we had trouble communicating with the installers and the office.  This experience was so different, and such a pleasure, I'll be looking for more coupons from them in 2014!
