"Matt is an artist as well as being an outstanding tradesman. He turned my rather mundane vision into a real bit of "decor", even my wife was impressed and she's hard to please. Matt and his assistant Manny were professional, polite, courteous and hard working. They turned a drab 3/4 bath into a real eye pleaser. Matt and Manny functioned as a well oiled machine, they were polite, courteous and above all professional. Matt kept us informed as to the progress of the work and regularly went that extra mile to ensure the excellent quality of their work. To the question of that shower door, a "DreamLine Essence Semi-Frameless Sliding Shower Door" a really beautiful bit of work and a total pain. The instructions provided didn't match the parts provided. It was a real pain to contact the manufacturers "Help Line" and finally I was able to dig through the manufacturers web-site and come up with the updated installation instructions. After that Matt and Manny were able to confidently dig into and complete the install. We will be asking them back to do several projects that we have in our planned remodeling of our home."

"Andrey was my project coordinator and did a fantastic job with the design.  Anatoliy was the installer and also did a fantastic job.  All floors were thin set under backer board to ensure a perfectly level subfloor and each tile was meticulously put in place with an amazing finished product.  I have built houses in the past and have not been impressed with my tile work but this time I am sold on 5 Star for the next project.  The only con's for 5 Star was cost and time to install but those are both directly related to the quality of the finished product and based on what I got I'll happily pay a bit more and wait a bit longer for their work. <br /> <br />"

"Work was performed beautifully, crew was on time, price was what Bruce said it would be. What made the service outstanding is the time Bruce spent working with us to determine what to do with the other hardwood in the house (that had been covered with carpet for years), and how generous he was with his time and how helpful the information was. Benchmark will be my first call for any hardwood work in the future."

"Cannot say enough good things about these folks. Their designer has an and quot;eyeand quot; for color, product and design that is impeccable. Their product offerings are superior. Their installation process is beyond description - rarely these days do you find such dedication to the customer and desire to do a job 1000% perfect! They were on time. They were creative. They LISTENED! They offered suggestions. They did superior quality work. It was an experience beyond our dreams and each day we stand in our living room and admire our and quot;newand quot; house! And taking a shower is now being described as and quot;being at a resortand quot;! But again, the most important thing was their total commitment to a please client! That cannot be purchased! <br />"

"It went very well.  Striking Image technicians lifted the closet carpet and placed a large fan as well as a heater to dry the carpet and carpet pad over a 24 hr. period.  When the owner came to verify that the carpet, etc. was sufficiently dry, he also checked the leaky roof area above the closet.  He did this by accessing the crawl space between closet ceiling and underside of roof.  He made sure that insulation  material was drying and told me to call him to come at end of week (no further charge) to verify that under roof area and insulation were completely dry. <br />"

"Wood Floors by Beto refinished our hardwood floors in most of the rooms of our house. Beto was very friendly and answered all of our questions before they started the job. After they removed carpeting covering the wood floors, we discovered that the under-floor in one of the rooms had sunk. Beto brought in a carpenter and his team and they fixed the under-floor beautifully. There were a few other surprises as they got down to the original hardwood floors, but they came up with solutions to all of them. His people did a great job on the floors. These people are real artisans, and their experience and expertise is evident in their work. They are great at the details. The work crew was very professional and hard-working. They stayed until everything was done right. The floors date back almost a hundred years, and have clearly been through some rough stuff, but they brought them back to life. They look beautiful now! I highly recommend this company for their honesty and the quality of their work."

"I met Levi Carejo when he inspected a house that I didn't ultimately purchase, thanks to his inspection. He pre-inspected the house I did buy, a bank foreclosure. As a result of a quick closing, I was the owner of a house that badly needed a new roof, new decking and water damage repair immediately. I turned to Levi. This is for a home that I will rent out for several years and ultimately live in myself so I needed income as soon as possible and good quality work and materials. Levi was a contractor for years before he became a home inspector and appraiser. He knows and respects many independent contractors that he pulled together and paid on my behalf. The first task was the roof and I couldn't believe how fast a metal roof could go up and for so little on an approximately 1600 sq. ft. house. That part of the cost was only $5000 and it was well done. Next the heating and air conditioning duct work and units needed to go in. The electrical box upgrade and new plugs were done simultaneously. During my visits to the property the workers were very professional and spent long hours getting things done. They worked well into the night and weekends. It was the rainy season so I was nervous about the timing of the roof tear-down and re-build especially because insurance would not pay for further damage to the house. It all happened like clockwork. Seven new windows were installed in the house (it already had some double pane windows in the front part of the home). Then the old carpet was torn out in the living room and an auxiliary room that I am using as a bed sit for overnights when weather doesn't permit a return home. The shower, a pre-fab and toilet were installed exactly as described and a closet was built to house the furnace and water heater. Levi encouraged me to keep a list of things that weren't perfect or need attention every step of the way. The only thing that went wrong is the tile guy tiled over a cable connection. As I found things that needed additional repair (but was not part of his responsibility I hired a handi-couple to do the work. They painted nicely, but charged so much more than the prices quoted by Levi that I asked him to do the rest. Most of the time, he just did the work without charge. And when I decided to redo another bedroom floor, he did it himself for a lower price than he quoted and he threw in extra repairs and hardware installation that were not his job. The house now looks pristine. Even before the last repairs were done, I could show it to prospective renters because he'd arranged for cleaners to make everything spotless. I was and still am stunned by my good fortune to have met Levi. Do get quotes for everything and expect to be wowed at how inexpensive and professional the work can be done for less. He told me he does not mark up the contractor/coordination he does because he wants to find work for those good people he knows. I was skeptical, but am now a believer."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Dona Ana, NM

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
