"HIGHLY recommend this carpet cleaning service. Went through Angie's List to get recommendations and Walter responded within just minutes of my quote request. We continued to chat back and forth and he responded immediately every time. By the end of that day we had an appointment set up for the following week. He showed up early, was efficient, extremely knowledgable about stain removal, etc. and his price just can't be beat. It was literally half of the price of the quotes that I received from several other local carpet cleaners (even with the little extra I paid to get out several VERY tough kid stains like juice, slime concoctions, etc.) The carpet looks practically brand new and it's been a very hard-lived-in kids playroom for over a decade."

"Everyone was very friendly and easy to work with.  They came to take measurements when they said they would come, and delivered and installed the carpet as we had agreed.  It was a pleasure doing business with them. <br />"

"Harty Brothers provided excellent service.  They have a vast quantity of selection in the store.  They then came out to our house to measure and ordered the product, which arrived within a few days.  We schedule the install and the installer was prompt and careful in his work.  We plan to use Harty Brothers again next year when we replace the wall to wall carpeting throughout the house. <br />"

"They were great. Ed from Allied was able to come that day to provide an estimate, which I was very happy with. He was able to send the installer 2 days later (my requested date). The installer, Augie, called me to tell me when he would arrive, and came when expected. He was very friendly and professional. I am very pleased with the results. You can hardly see the line where I had to cut the carpet. Easy, affordable, reliable, and great work. The way things should be."

"Mike was very attentive, checking in every step of the way. It's clear that he and his installers take pride in their work. <br /> I was planning to use a basic budget builder's grade carpet. Mike gave me the option of using some much higher quality, but factory defective carpet, for a much better price. The defect was dots of small grease stains, every few feet, in a row along one end of the roll. For a much better price, he could cut out the stains for the hall and stairs, and put the stains towards the back of the bedrooms where they'd be covered with furniture. <br /> Not only is the carpet installed perfectly and much higher quality than I planned for, but his guys got the stains out! Extremely pleased. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Dover, NJ

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
