After getting some outrageous quotes from other companies, the Chim-Line technician came in, played around with the damper for about 5 minutes and fixed it. He explained that it had somehow jumped the grooved area where it should be seated and got it back into place. I asked how much I owed him and he said nothing. So technically I did not hire them, but should I need any work going forward with the fireplace or chimney Chim-Line will absolutely be the first company I call. "In the spring of 2021, Dyer Solutions was hired to replace soffit and fascia as part of an insurance claim. He changed the angle of the soffit without consulting me first which resulted in holes being made in my existing siding. It also resulted in the top of my window frame to be inside the soffit. He then had to add additional pieces because the soffit didn’t line up going around the house. The soffit was cut very unevenly and was hanging down in several places and it was very dirty. The fascia was overlapped in the wrong direction and the corners of the trim and fascia had large gaps and were filled with quite a lot of silicone. In the peaks, the trim did not meet properly. He also added some ugly bent pieces to where my peak meets the roof. After getting started and removing my gutters, he stopped to work on another job and without gutters, my basement flooded twice. Since he already had the check from the insurance company. I asked him to return the money because maybe this job was too hard for him. He insisted that he would make it right, but things did not get better. He had a spouting company come out before he installed the fascia so I had them leave because I didn’t want the new gutters to have to be taken off and put back on. I finally told him to get out and that I would have to pay another company to redo the horrible job he was doing. My house is finally fixed by another company, but unfortunately, because of the holes he put in the siding I couldn’t afford to have it back to how it was originally. He refuses to return any of the money and he even insisted that I still owe him money."

"This was a unique circumstance for the extremely wet area. The house foundation (footer) was directly on top of uneven sandstone as was the majority of the floor; along with a fair amount of mud. This also led to difficulties with 'cutting' a channel to accommodate the drain and gravel, as well as the Polydrain (the footer was taller than normal basements). However, the crew was able to overcome these issues; it just took an extra day (for one person, not the entire crew). Two sumps had to be installed due to the design of the house; these pits had to be chiseled out of solid sandstone, mind you. This also meant two drain outlets had to be installed after exiting the house, one of which had to go under a sidewalk. The crew was always polite, taking time to answer my questions and concerns. The work they did was absolutely fantastic. The attention to details was the best I have seen in quite some time from a company contracted for a specific job -- and I've dealt with many contractors. Not only did they take away the material chiseled out from the basement, they did the same for excess dirt after trenching for the discharge pipe -- and they even put down coated grass seed over the new trenches. One of the outlets had to go under a deck; both through flower gardens. When they were done, you would never had known what they had to move, or remove, to have access to those areas. I had several outfits -- both local and regional/national -- come out to give estimates and was most impressed by Engineered Foundation Solutions from the onset. They were slightly higher on cost estimate than the others, but you truly get what you pay for in this case. The knowledge they exhibited from the estimator alone put some of the other companies to shame. He even found a water source under the footer that no other company saw. I cannot stress how impressed I was with this company's crew and the work they performed. I would use them again, and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone with a water problem in their basement!"
