"The installation went extremely well and the price was very reasonable. However, we had a difficult time receiving communications with the vendor during the decision and scheduling phases of the project. For one thing, we committed to have the work done if it could be completed before Easter if we made a buying decision prior to the end of March (which we did). Not only was the job not done prior to Easter but also we were not kept apprised of the status and we needed to call the vendor a number of times to find out installation information. If you use this vendor, be prepared to stay in constant contact. It's worth it, however, because the job was done beautifully."

"It all went very well.  It took some time to get the contractor out to do his survey, but Lowe's stayed on top of it ensuring that we were happy with the timing of the installation.  We purchased very nice Larson doors and used Lowe's before but it was the other store on the east side of York.  This service and product was about the same as we received from the other Lowe's.  The installation was done professionally.  The only issue we had was with a former employee from Lowes who filed our purchases separately and the contractor had to run back to the store and get the storm door because he thought we were only receiving the exterior door.   The  gentleman who works in the door department now was a go-getter and serious about taking care of us.  He stayed in touch with us throughout the process. <br />"

"They provided us with an estimate quickly, and the price was very reasonable. They installed the carpets and the dining room floor in a timeframe that worked with our schedule. Great communication every step of the way, and their quality of work is top-notch. We have already hired them for an additional project, new floors in our basement. Awesome company, we would highly recommend World Flooring to anyone in Central PA who needs carpet or laminate floors."

"They picked my carpet up on 6/19/14 and it will be brought back this week.  They have cleaned carpets for me in the past so there is no reason for me to think that there will be any problems this time. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Dover, PA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
