"Things went from bad to worse. I replaced a few boards before the sanding and staining was to be done. The carpenter told me "a few of the boards are thicker than the existing". I told the carpenter "don't worry about that. The deck guys are going to sand it all down". This was my understanding from the start. I have evidence I communicated with DeckMedic my understanding that the deck would be sanded to get rid of the rough surface. Their ad calls it "sanding to remove the raised grain". I even mentioned he will most definitely need to hammer all nails before sanding. Otherwise he will tear up his sander. He agreed. The sanding was never done and many of the nails were never hammered down. I brought a third party service company in for their opinion. Their professional opinion "the deck was never sanded as the raised grain on the wood stands out and is very rough" Second issue: my deck stairs needed rebuilt then would need stained. Ryan and I came to an agreement. He would give me a $400 discount due to my dissatisfaction. He would send me a discounted invoice marked paid and would include a contractual promise to come back in the spring to stain new stairs. After I paid him, he said the invoice is in the mail. It never showed up. Now he still won't give me the invoice."

"After our initial job was done we decided to have Adam and the crew back to add the decking we initially declined on the original project. Adam was able to find time in the schedule to come back quickly as my husband was having surgery and made sure the job was done before that date so we wouldn't have to worry about it. "Estimate 1800 plus materials. Did not smooth the walls in the bedroom, moulding by doors not complete just left it undone. The bathroom the lvp floor moves up and down not level, the floor at door will not stay down and cut wrong toilet was never bolted to the floor, when medicine cabinet came out the patching was horrendous, the vanity not fully against the wall the moulding is blocking it from resting against the wall , the faucet the done backwards all messed up they reworked and fixed it. The p-trap we purchased never used but took they installed flexible pipe AND CUT the metal plumbing and put a flexible drain pipe when the shelf could've been notched or removed to enable the code plumbing. Toilet paper holder they struggled with because the patch job with the old recessed holder that was removed. They couldn't put the tp holder on. The threshold had absolutely no idea how to cut and fit granted the one we bought was wrong was told I can make it work. They paused my remodel due to they had other jobs they set up before mine and that's not right finish one before moving on to the next... they left a mess, had to get all the paint that was dropped smudged all over my original hard wood floor, I had to repatch the bathroom cause it literally looked like shit. My husband is going to get a plumber to redo the bathroom sink drain and still have to figure out how to get the tp holder installed when there is no drywall to attach it too it's all spackle patched. To me cut alot of corners. I constantly had to clean everytime they left. Oh I almost forgot the dimmer switch he fried cause he doesn't know how to do electrical , had to buy a new dimmer switch and get an electrician in to fix that, the light that was installed will eventually be redone because the box was supposed to be anchored to a stud not drywall and a jumper wire to the house wiring but it's behind the box so it's not serviceable. When the electrician was out for the dimmer the wires were never capped either. Fire hazard... The trim is not flush with walls 1/8 to 1/4 gap took our supplies with him when he left the job I never signed a contract only got an estimate and he wanted to be paid I have alot of texts which one even states I shouldn't have taken on this project. My home bathroom is not to code according to the village of schaumburg ...."
