"Excellent job repairing our deck! The job was to power wash, replace boards as needed, and paint. The power wash and replacement of boards was well done. Two coats of paint were applied well. Our unhappiness stems from the finished project's paint not looking at all like the paint chip. We get that the actual paint job won't be a perfect match to the chip, but this was way off and way too light. We noticed as they were going into the second coat and said that it didn't look right. Even after it dried, the color was very much too light. I wish they'd had enough knowledge (?) to advise us of this before they got the paint. They kind of shrugged off our complaint because "this is the shade you ordered." We paid in full for the work they did. Then went to Menard's and found a darker shade of the same paint line that we applied ourselves. The deck looks great now."

"Last week a company came out told my retired elderly father they wouldnâ t repair my parents boiler and they named 6 reasons then said pay us for coming out and they were gone in 20 minutes and even didnâ t give my elderly father a receipt.. I was furious and I took over the project and used HomeAdvisor to find honest companies. I figured 2 or 3 estimates to make a decision. The 2nd company wanted to sell us an new furnace for $7,000. The third company that came out was Gerlyn Services. The owner Angel came out and looked at the furnace and Angel quoted $40 more to fix the Boiler than what the 4th company was quoting to charge just to come out and look at the Boiler. I thought Angel was joking. He wasnâ t. The company owner Angel came out at 10 a.m. with an employee and had the boiler up and running in nearly under hour! Angel had the house warming up before he left and Angel fixed a potential leak too. 5 STARS FOR ANGEL!!!"

"We had our chimney tuck pointed and a roof put on the house. The old roof wasn’t torn down this it wasn’t in real bad shape and there was only one layer on. The work was all done in one day and everything was cleaned up when they left."

"James was great. Instead of just patching things up, he got to the root of the leaks we'd been experiencing, and uncovered shoddy workmanship from previous repairs. He was very persistent about making sure the leak was resolved before patching the damage the leaks had caused.  (He found sheetrock and old rags used as patching materials from previous work!)
He removed all the old / rotted trim and decking on our balcony, repaired the balcony railing, faithfully restored the tin soffit under the second-floor gutter system (going out of his way to find suitable galvinized tin); and he replaced all the mouldings, even painstakingly trimming them to match the original materials. His attention to detail is well appreciated, and the finished work looks great.
Only one drawback: Since James typically works alone, his schedule is a bit unpredictable. If there was rain in the forecast, he would take another, interior job for the day.  Then, even if it didn't actually rain, my job got held off.  So the whole job took a couple weeks longer than we'd planned.
But in the end, James brought in a helper and got everything done in time for painters to come in an do the finish work.
